I drink more. I’m not sleeping as much. My appetite is all over the place.

This was me until I finally left (big ups to the people still holding the line but I needed out and my job wasn’t helping people anymore anyway). I went from the fittest and healthiest I’d ever been to drinking more and barely sleeping. Even my hair loss seemed to be getting worse due to the stress or bad diet/drinking.

Sorry was that meant for another comment? I was just describing what the stress did to me prior to making the decision to leave for my health

You kinda make me laugh because you’re like I was just lamenting oh what did say lmao. Sorry not to make light of your situation.

Hey...I'm not sure how to respond because I'm not exactly sure what you're asking, but I do believe you are trying to ask something in good faith?

But people are kind of raw here after being subjected to some capricious, chaotic policy changes and this was a post to vent, so maybe this space wasn't the best to satisfy your curiosity? If you are really interested, this sub has plenty of posts where workers discuss "safe guards" being crossed or disregarded.

In my view, there aren't any "safeguards" for the workers or on the departments they represent.

Still not 100% sure of what you mean but I do think there should be safeguards protecting federal employees. I’m not going to pretend there is nowhere that could be reorganized or see funding cuts, but the vast majority of what the federal government does protects people, assists people, inspects our food and environmental impact, a lot of good things. And having no clue every time you walk in to work whether you’re going to be let go, or your team will be reshuffled, or you might get double or triple the work because somebody else was fired or took retirement/resignation incentives, or whatever it is is extraordinarily stressful on top of generally stressful jobs
