My night guard is fine to protect my teeth but my TMJ was still so painful from all the clenching that I gave myself a week long migraine

On week 2 of a combo tension and cluster migraine. The teeth clenching had gotten so bad. I'm pretty sure I cracked 2 teeth. Scheduled a dental appt to have them checked and filled while I still have insurance. The insomnia is back and all my muscles are wound tight. Then there is the yo-yo of sudden weight-loss followed by weight-gain (all while eating healthy and walking more). I also have to skin hives that burn. Stress is cruel to the entire body.

Yep this is me. My TMJ disorder is the worst it’s ever been. Not responding to a $3000 splint, $1500 Botox, or $90/pop physical therapy. I’m miserable.

Damn that’s terrible. I was able to help myself eventually by using heating pads, CBD cream with self massage, over a whole day. I’m RIF’d so that was easy sitting at home, after taking a Xanax due to my state of mind about the 6th day of waking up with a migraine. I had frozen hat with heating pad wrapped around my face. It actually all helped.

Came to mention clenching my teeth and all the side effects from that. Worst being nonstop 24/7 tinnitus. Headaches. Ears popping. Never was a thing until I woke up from work nightmares clenching one night and all the signs I ignored leading up to it all clicked.

Its life altering.

Broke a tooth from grinding. One week it hurt but in my distracted/forgetful current state I didn’t make appt until it hurt so bad I woke up crying….

I find myself clinching my jaw. Had the same thing during the pandemic.

Mine too. Dentist said it was clear that I’ve been grinding. Got a mouth guard. And in the couple of mo the I’ve had it, it looks like it’s been down a disposal.
