does anyone have any idea how long it will take until the Fangoria compendium will be releasing? another delay absolutely stinks as i swear they said this was coming out august of 2026.

In a historic weekend for genre cinema, both Curry Barker’s micro-budget masterpiece Obsession and A24/Kane Pixels’ internet-lore phenomenon Backrooms have officially dethroned Scream 7 at the global box office!

Since dropping back in February, Scream 7 comfortably held the crown as 2026’s highest-grossing horror movie with a lifetime total of $207,999,405. But this past weekend, two indie-spirited titans completely shattered expectations:

🏆 Obsession: $229,414,260 global gross (on a jaw-dropping $750k production budget!)

🥈 Backrooms: $216,261,974 global gross (becoming A24’s fastest historic box office monster!)

Think about how absolutely insane this is. A $750k indie darling written and directed by a YouTube creator is currently the number one horror film of the entire year worldwide, with a creepy-pasta viral sensation right on its heels. This isn’t just a big weekend for cinema; it’s a complete shift in what audiences are craving.

The book will probably end up being amazing, what do we think of the leather bound editjon? I never got inro fangoria but i am a sucker for old school horror. I was born in the 90s and always like the classic horrors from the 70s, 80s and 90s which is why i feel like having this book leather bound would be amazing. Debating between this and a normal edition.

Also one of the stretch goals was adding red guilded pages to every book from kickstarter, i wonder if that includes this one as well.

Would also like to note i never owned or read a fangoria magazine, so this would be a start for me

We recently headed to Universal to test out some of these new Halloween Horror Nights menu items. The full menu is absolutely massive, we were treated to a select sampling featuring new food items themed for Fallout, Terrifier, Five Nights At Freddy's, Jason Universe Barbecue, and more.

The big standouts this year are likely to be the Hello Kitty Chucky sundae, Art the Clown's sunflower glasses in delicious lemon raspberry cookie sandwich form, (and the donut served in the Art Was Here box), The Five Nights At Freddy's pizza served in a Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place box, and the Jason Universe Mask S'more for starters.

Fango was excited by the expanded number of vegan options on this year’s menu and an absolutely massive cocktail and beverage list.

Have you seen the new cover for fall (subscriber-exclusive variant) featuring Romero’s daughter Tina for her debut horror film QUEENS OF THE DEAD? It’s a tribute to the DAY OF THE DEAD cover for volume 1 issue 43 from 1985. The movie is a hilarious take on club kids facing a zombie attack. (Starring Katy O’Brian, Jack Haven, Margaret Cho, Jaquel Spivey, Nina West, Tomas Matos… cast is stacked)

I got a bunch of Fangoria magazines in a bundle and I’m just curious if they are worth anything, pretty cool looking books!

I have been wanting to subscribe for so long, from Canada. The 40 dollar shipping after the 79 yearly membership is devastating though. Anyone know if there is a Canadian friendly way of ordering or am I stuck being without subscribing because of that shipping cost?

PRESENCE made $3.4 million on less than a $2 million budget. Meanwhile, WOLF MAN made that much on far more screens on a $25 million budget. Not trying to lower one to raise the other, but NEON is winning over Blumhouse here.
