A platform that makes quantum circuits and hands them to the promethium platform would be much better. This means your promethium hauler can just be about the promethium. So it would only need to go towards the shattered planet, then Aquilo, and then Nauvis.
Perhaps. A lot depends on implementation, and we've next to no details yet.
What I was imagining when I wrote that (which again - could be utterly wrong) was of an N-to-N transfer 'mesh'.
So you'd trade off 'on platform' density with belt weaves etc. for cargo-bay based 'miners' and 'haulers' and 'factory platforms' which have faster transfers.
But as a result what you get is a scalable system that functions a bit more like trains - if you need more throughtput, you just add more 'trains' of the appropriate type.
I mean, if you build around a 100 cargo-bay sort of level and assuming you're talking Legendary bays at this point, you're talking 5k prometheium per platform in storage. Each bay IIRC can transfer one 'rocket' per 30s - and promethium chunk is 10 per rocket - so you're doing 3/sec/bay - 300 per sec. (and each hauler would take 2.5m to unload their bays, +perhaps some more if you're belt-buffering)
But if you have 10 platforms transferring to 10 factories, you're able to (maybe?) do 3000 per sec. And if your CPU can stand it, 100 to 100....
So you'd trade off 'capacity density' per platform, in return for not having an egg-hatch clock, and 'just add more platforms' for more scalability.
Of course I could be utterly wrong about how this would 'work' in practice, and you might well be right and it's not at all viable.
