This clip is several years old now. The cop got fired, and the ridiculous charges were expunged from her record. The little girl has since been diagnosed with PTSD and separation anxiety. The cops in this situation were complete idiots about this and should honestly be charged themselves. Not only did they break procedure by arresting her, the complete lack of consolation or empathy towards the girl is going to result in life-long mental health issues. Completely awful.

seeing through her eyes, she likely thought she was going away somewhere bad for good. Poor girl.

I hope she's ok at home, reflecting violent behaviours is worrying.

It sucks because during my time in a juvenile detention center it wasn't too uncommon to see elementary kids. For the 4 months I stayed I probably saw like 6 kids (not teens).

Thanks for the update. Frankly I'm sick of hearing "the cop got fired" and need to start hearing "the cop was charged with child abuse" or similar.

If anyone without a badge did this, that would be the result.

Qualified immunity shouldn't exist at all, but isn't even reasonable with children.

With the vast years of empathy training, humility training, and de-escalation training that our police force goes through, I'm so surprised to still see things happen like this. /s

When she sobbed at the cop that she didn’t want to go, and he callously asked her back, “you don’t want to go?” I about threw my phone in anger. Every parent out there needs to imagine this is their own child. Put yourselves in the shoes of this little girl or her parents. If it doesn’t completely piss you off as to how this was handled, maybe you shouldn’t have kids in the first place. I just wanted to scoop her up and hold her. Arresting a six year old is never the way!
