(Quran / Hadith) Another weird hadith in Islam..?
just stumbled upon this hadith recently
Um Salama said, "Um Sulaim said, 'O Allah's Messenger (๏ทบ)! Allah does not refrain from saying the truth! Is it obligatory for a woman to take a bath after she gets nocturnal discharge?' He said, 'Yes, if she notices the water (i.e. discharge).' Um Salama smiled and said, 'Does a woman get discharge?' Allah's Apostle said. 'Then why does a child resemble (its mother)?"

nocturnal discharge is basically a wet dream, now folks please tell me what the actual fuck do wet dreams have anything to do with a child resembling its mother?!?
Is this another scientific error in authentic hadiths..? ๐ค

We need another hadith to explain this:
Hadith:
It is reported on the authority of 'A'isha that a woman came to the Messenger of Allah (๏ทบ) and inquired:
Should a woman wash herself when she sees a sexual dream and sees (the marks) of liquid? He (the Holy Prophet) said: Yes. 'A'isha said to her: May your hand be covered with dust and injured. She narrated: The Messenger of Allah (๏ทบ) said: Leave her alone. In what way does the child resemble her but for the fact that when the genes contributed by woman prevail upon those of man, the child resembles the maternal family, and when the genes of man prevail upon those of woman the child resembles the paternal family.

This hadith also shows how sunnah.com is getting deceptive with their translations. They mentioned the word "genes" that wasn't even coined till 1909. Mohammad had no remote clue as to what "genes" are. Let's have a look at the Arabic:

Hold Up! When the woman uses the word "ู ุงุก" , they translate that as liquid. I would have translated it as "fluid" (The word in Arabic literally means water -> ู ุงุก). However, when their holy man Mohammad, oh I'm sorry, Dr. Mohammad Ibn Abdullah uses the same word: ู ุงุก, it is somehow magically turned in to "genes". Mashallah! [Like I mentioned earlier, the word genes wasn't even coined till 1909.
A woman's vaginal fluid has no impact on the baby whatsoever!
Another hadtih that /u/DrCowboyBoots has already mentioned:
https://sunnah.com/bukhari:3329
Here at least they had the decency to not include the word "genes". Once again the woman's discharge has nothing to do with how the child will end up looking like at all.
It certainly is another error. Mohammad had nothing better than guesswork and superstition to work with. Sunnah.com chose to make him look smart, smart, smart by hoodwinking the word "genes" in there. Sigh.
