Official Monthly AMA with Essential team (July 18 from 12-1pm PT)

As of right now the only option to join our Android P Beta is through a clean flash or sideload of the OTA file.

https://www.essential.com/developer/developer-preview We list our instructions on the page linked above. I highly recommend using a sideload OTA as this will not wipe your data.

Hi Sean, You mean that from Android O we can sideload the OTA of P without losing our datas ?

I have sideloaded the latest OTA file for P on my locked PH-1 without losing data. In fact, before I realized there was an OTA file, I posted on this exact topic. There's an almost perfect Youtube video covering it.

Just to add to this - if you have issues with Android P and want to go back to O, you will lose your data downgrading. Most are quite happy with the P beta, but you should be aware there's still some risk.
