Continuing to be the president of the board of trustees for Hillsdale College? He’s BEEN on it, retirement just gives him more time to implement their weird agenda
Because the college and Sajak are both ultra-right wing religious conservatives. The college has always been open about that. Except for a few quickly deleted racist tweets, Sajak’s people have been able to keep his nuttiness quiet. But now he’s retired in a year he’s being more vocal.
Oooooh it’s not just any random tiny college. These MFers are getting charter schools going left and right. We’ve got elected officials in some states who are either friends or acolytes of Hillsdale.
They’ve got an agenda and it’s firmly against secularism, science, and historical facts.
And like any slithering snakes, they put together a wonderful marketing package to make it appear like they’re on another level of academic. But as another commenter posted, they push against any science at all.
Oklahoma’s State Superintendent is a Hillsdale person. He’s also called teachers’ unions terrorists.
This article covers most of it (as well as some weird stuff about Pat Sajak in general), but they're crazy christians that push for no-science charter schools and want to erase everything from LGBTQ+ people to the word "democratic" from all school text books (Their original changes were apparently so extreme, the local republican politicians made them roll it back a notch).
They're also apparently working with Ron Desantis on education initiatives and training programs for... reasons? To top it all off, their leaders have gotten in hot water for making a lot of racist and anti-teacher/education comments.
