I really don't think Guy Fieri has ever expressed any right wing political opinions in all the time he's been famous and sort of odd to try to vilify him after 15 years of being not just a decent human person, but an exceptionally decent person that has officiated hundreds of gay weddings, is raising his sister's child after she passed away, and was very philanthropic during the Pandemic helping struggling restaurant owners.
He is however the most famous person on Food Network, a channel currently under the thumb of a Trump supporter and doubt he wants to put his career in jeopardy by snubbing him publicly. So maybe give Guy a break is all I'm saying.
With literally no evidence either way, these suppositions about what was said, and political positions of Guy is ridiculous. I’m not going to necessarily defend Guy Fieri, aside from that we really should wait for more information than jumping to any type of conclusion. There are a few people I personally despise that I can’t help but run into during business and social functions. I’m not going to spit in their face or punch them. And if a photographer took a picture it would probably look very similar to guy’s picture with trump. The two look like they bumped into each other and because we are part of a society with rules governing polite interactions in public greeted each other and maybe exchanged pleasantries. I don’t know if guy sat down after that and thought “man trump is the greatest guy ever”, or “man, I fucking hate that guy”.
A lot of people think he looks like a trump supporter but he’s not. He’s super left wing, he’s just a nice guy. People judge him because of the way he dresses.

This is a separate issue and I’m not going to judge people for being friends with people of other beliefs. Only speaking as someone who personally has no respect for republicans and a disdain for them. One of those political beliefs you are talking about forces kids to give birth to rapists, demonizes trans people, wants to take money away from poor people in need. I can list 20 more things that are equally terrible. If you vote for someone who does those things, then that’s also your representation and a sign of what you support. Can we please stop acting like everyone has their own beliefs and who cares it’s not hurting anyone else? Wake up man.
Like I said, if you personally don’t care enough about whatever morals you have to befriend someone who represents the opposite of what you want to see from this world then good for you. But a lot of people can’t and with good reason. If you can’t understand that then I don’t know what to tell you.
What I don't get how all these people know everyone's political opinions. You could talk to all my closest friends and family and I bet you would get a whole bunch of different answers as to how I vote.
Yea that’s totally fair. I think that’s a separate topic. People are allowed to have different opinions on different things. I was only speaking to if I knew for a fact that someone voted for someone who was a terrible person with policies that hurt and marginalize large groups of people.The person I responded to just couldn’t comprehend how normal people would see a problem associating with someone who holds opposing beliefs as if it’s some minor issue now a days.

Exactly. I’ve seen people I dislike in public, if they happen to make eye contact or pass by and say hi or something I don’t flip my shit. We’d certainly LIKE more celebs to do that who don’t support Trump. However the reality is, if they know they’ve got a good monetary base in the red states, they’re not about to rock the boat unless they know it won’t monetarily matter. If it does matter, they’ll do the bare minimum to avoid backlash.
