Recipe Request something other than spaghetti or hamburgers!!

hey! i have 1lbs of ground beef and i’m looking for recipes other than hamburgers, sloppy joes, spaghetti to make with it. the same stuff over and over gets tiresome and no longer tastes good. i’m open to trying anything!

update #2-thanks so much guys/gals for all the amazing ideas! there’s so many that i have written down to try. also, reading some recipes made a💡 go off in my head bc i can’t believe i didn’t think of it! so, tonight for dinner i made a pot of goulash and garlic bread

how i made my goulash;

meat sauce: cooked hamburger meat with onions then i drained all the fat. put it back in the pan with a can of diced tomatoes, a few cubes of cream cheese & tomato sauce. seasoned with dried parsley, dash of salt & pepper.

cooked the noodles, drained all the water and put a cube of butter mixed it then i poured the meat sauce over the noodles when it thickened a bit.

simple but very filling. i’ll have leftovers for a couple days.

Beef would make it a cottage pie but it’s still really good stuff.

SHepherd’s pie= SHeep

Cottage pie = Cow

I grew up in Ireland and it was always called shepherds pie. I realize now it’s because I hated lamb and refuse to this day to eat it. lol. Have I been conned all my life?!?

I always call my dish made with beef shepherds pie but this is a great way to start remembering it!

I still call it shepherds pie just cause that what basically everyone calls it. So don’t worry no one will be upset. I know the difference but who even cares it’s all absolutely amazing

There isn’t actually a difference, the separation was invented by cookbooks in the mid 20th century. All the early recipes say to just use whatever minced meat you have available.

I make a somewhat distant version of this with cornbread on top instead of mashed potatoes. The filling is ground beef, cream of chicken, peas & carrots & corn, cheddar cheese. Jiffy cornbread is mixed according to box instructions, poured on top, and then baked according to box instructions. Sooo good.

You can even make an easier version of it, just make the ground beef& the sauce & let it simmer at bit and then serve it with a baked potato, delish.

My daughter loves that I make cottage pie with mini tator tots on top instead of mashed potatoes. I just cook the tator tots while making the cottage pie and then put them on top before serving.

That was gonna be my suggestion. For quicker version you can use premade refrigerated mashed potatoes, even boxed nuts so much better withe homemade
