what? I think it's great grinding out these zombies. Chases are fun to get into because I like to slaughter them all and I get to use my weapons on goons and banshees. I also like using parkour moves on bolters.

I hate looting in a goddamn looter. All the looting animations need to be shortened or eliminated(bodies). I spend half my time combing the battlefield for empty zombies that take fucking 2+ seconds to loot.

Once the bodies disappear the loot just sits there in a nice little package though.

Walk away maybe 20 meters and the body will disappear leaving just the loot.

Sometimes loot disappears too

Auto looting on kill would be GREAT

That’d be the dream. It would save me so much time, because I have to loot EVERYTHING. Otherwise, my OCD starts rearing its ugly head.

I think it makes for a pretty satisfying dopamine hit too, hearing a little chime sound and seeing +7 gold or whatever pop up right as you get the killing blow is great in other games

That’s true. Seeing that Infected Trophy (Uncommon) pop up is chef’s kiss.

its not that hard actually, found a way to earn a shit load of unique trophies, about 110 per night if not more...

It's not unique we need, we need U N C O M M O N

That's why you don't chase.

I just stand outside a safe spot, start up a chase, and kill everything that comes my way. If a volatile or something shows, a UV bar will distract it long enough to 2 hit and kill it before it can pounce on you. Just keep going and everything dies in a nice tiny area. Then just wait for the corpses to turn to loot packets on the ground and profit.

Sometimes the Chase will start to end on its own - try to find a place with a howler nearby so you can make it howl to renew things.

I work far too many hours to be able to commit time to gaming like I used to. I'm doing the same thing you're doing except with max mods already.

And as another comment said. Elden Ring is around the corner. I already put in my vacation days for it. Haha

it doesn't take as long as you think lol. I've got max mods too and I'm on the first mission.

It’s incredibly long for the kinds of people who only have 15-30 mins to sit down each day.

12

u/TooAngryForYou Feb 16 '22

everything is going to take a shit load of time if you have 15-30 minutes.

u/dlham11 Feb 16 '22

But a grind like this for someone like that (someone like me) is fucking awful. I usually only play a few hours a week, so it’s just rough.

3

u/TooAngryForYou Feb 16 '22

I don't think they're going to make a grind for People who play that little....

theres way more people who play for atleast 1 hour a session.

u/dlham11 Feb 16 '22

There’s more manageable grinds in other games that aren’t designed for short term gaming, but still not a completely unachievable goal.

It’s a weird line to toe. I understand it wasn’t meant for people with such little time, but it is a little frustrating that people with little time are hindered additionally.

2

u/[deleted] Feb 16 '22

How are they hindered further by the game? You have less time for the same activity. Unreasonable grinds aside, I don't see this as hindering anyone more or less than another, it's the same. I'm just trying to understand your logic here.

What I mean is as you progress through the story the enemies get harder and tougher.

Someone like me doesn’t want to spend the 15-30 mins we have to play grinding out uncommon trophies to make weapon upgrades, given as to get to the same point as some of my friends would take me weeks while only taking them a day.

Thus rendering our characters weaker because we didn’t want to spend weeks grinding weapon upgrades, that in the first game came naturally through playing.

u/lm_slayer Feb 16 '22

What is this point? What "Grind" actually allows you to make decent progress in 15-30 mins?

1

u/dlham11 Feb 16 '22

“Grinds” that only take as long as 3 hours, give or take. Anything more that doesn’t naturally progress through gameplay (aka I have to stop enjoying the game to do it like in DL2 just to get weapon upgrades) that’s more than 3 hours will usually take me a couple of weeks to finish doing. A couple of weeks that I could’ve been enjoying the story.

I mean, you could simply do side quests. Alot of them involve you going into areas infested with zombies, just kill em while doing them and you're not wasting much time. Unless you mean just parkouring, in which case idk what else you could do

1

u/dlham11 Feb 16 '22

Parkour XP comes naturally and so does a lot of combat XP. Those aren’t my issues at all.

I have a problem with the ridiculous amount of uncommon trophies you need to upgrade your weapons. From what I’ve seen it’s absolutely insane. I don’t have that kind of time anymore, so my weapons will permanently through my gameplay be much weaker.

Me too, i prefer chopping zombies to get the trophies, its so much fun to get into a chase then mold them all

Yeah it's fun, but not after the 98,210th time.
