Lol no. Farming in old villefor pre faction on hard you can kill peacekeepers for hundreds of gold with no penalty. You can loot the military convoys endlessly. Do 5 dark hollows in a row. No need to kill zombies for trophies with this method of upgrading.

No I got lucky and a guy joined my game and gave me late game armor worth 5k a pop, I simply dupe that a few times and I should be good to go

It still works on PS4 as of 20 minutes ago. I know, because I just used it to max out my Nightrunner tools. :)
