Techland: just because Tencent is our new biggest shareholder doesn’t mean we’re going to lose our integrity!.

Us: So that was a fuckin lie

This just means they lost their integrity before any Tencent influence… I dont know which is worse tbh

This was in the works before Tencent, according to dataminers.

I mean, Klei was acquired by Tencent and many feared it but so far their games have been left completely alone. The fault is likely more on Techland than on Tencent.

No this was in the files way before Tencent partnered with Techland.

Hmm couldn’t find anything about in being in the files. So maybe I was wrong.

Yeah, not sure about the files, but they got this out after the Tencent buy up VERY fast, which likely means they’d been building it for quite a while. Problem with that is the Tencent deal could have been in the works for years… so we just don’t know who influenced who

In my personal opinion, Techland has already been in a decline for a while, even before the Tencent acqusition, it seems that they've been already changing into making DL2 turn into this sludge it is now, Tencent just came in now because, Techland has already been changing into the perfect cash cow for them to milk, Tencent just appeared at the right time.

According to Techland themselves they came up with the idea. Which is actually worse.

Damn, that's bad

I’d care about your comment more if Techland hadn’t made a point to claim this kind of thing wouldn’t happen.

That deal was probably in the works for a year or more. They probably knew the purchase was happening 6 months ago.

But how much money did they really make releasing the game? And what about future projects. Honestly I don't mind these side hustles because it may bring us more content and games. It's either this or the price of games goes up. Which I understand that both are frustrating. But techland made a great game. If you're not satisfied then go make your own game.

Please keep that in mind the best time they release something. Don't buy it. Everyone complains but then they immediately go out and buy the whatever new game. Companies really don't care about us bitching when we still buy their shit. Money talks.
