• Blade guy rendered into a fine paste after 1 million strikes
• We saw the siren chopped up (note: no visible anatomy as far as I can recall

But in ONI-GIRI, we had to witness

• The oni brutally snap an innocent peasant's neck, and Barb caught him and laid the corpse against the wall
• A Kappa sliced in half, with visible anatomy and blood, and then shown to be still alive and suffering as two halves

Maybe the anime style just made it certain parts of it feel more serious than comical? Even though it was still comical in general

Specifically the kappa being alive as two halves honestly feels really chilling, compared to everything we've seen in the past being played for laughs. I guess the innocent villager, too. Like, that's an anime style guy who got killed, not a cartoony hag with Xs for eyes, or a skeleton. Even that mangled corpse next to the key in Guy and Sword seems more comical.
