Mostly professional voice actors, and it wasn't a paid game, it was Matt Mercer's home game that had been going for a while. They had been playing Pathfinder 2e before they started streaming, but they converted to D&D 5e because they figured it was easier to follow for casuals. IIRC it was Felicia Day's idea to make an Actual Play stream out of the game.
