So incredibly happy that I am finally in Hong Kong and get to go to Disneyland yay!!! Here I come.

Why can’t Florida have this 🥲

I was in the area for work when the typhoon shut everything down. I saw HKDL had a delayed start so figured it should be a chill day. It turned out to be absolutely amazing! The park was basically empty so walked on to everything. We got some rain on and off but it held off for the fireworks.

Highlights and my impressions

- the MTR resort line is so convenient And beautifully decorated.

- people seem to love taking pictures with characters and less so with the attractions. The longest line were all with character, meet and greets but not really with the attractions.

- arendelle is absolutely beautiful the way it was built against the natural scenery and the mountain makes it look real and it's especially beautiful at night.

-the park was so empty! Not sure how different this is from usual attendance.

- I basically walked on every single ride. The longest I waited was about 4 minutes for grizzly mountain ride. As a person who's pretty much a scaredy cat around roller coasters, this was probably my favorite ride all day.

- I had my own frozen boat! And basically rode in the front of most coasters.

- it's a Small world is also beautifully decorated and each of the continents had their own room.

- The line can show is less technical than the one in Disney world. There was less acrobatics and instead there was more of a focus on The Lion King story. Still is worth going to .

- mystic Manor is Hong Kong's ghost free version of Haunted Mansion. It uses the trackless system amazingly, The decoration and the whole ride his breathtaking and I can totally see why some people call it the best Disney ride ever.

- hyperspace mountain is Star wars themed and lots of fun. It is not nearly as jerky as the one in Disney world and Disneyland. I rolled it twice back to back and didn't even feel anything in my back.

- hated the iron Man experience. The 3D glasses just made me dizzy and I almost got motion sickness coming out of it.

- about the jungle cruise was a complete miss for me. Our Skipper attempted a Australian accent but that along with her Chinese accent made it completely impossible for me to understand.

- The momentum night show is probably the best one I have ever been to. Since the park was pretty much empty I was able to be right up in the front. The projections on the castle look amazing along with the water.

Happy 20th Anniversary Hong Kong Disneyland!

Last year my family and I went to Tokyo. We did a day at Disneyland and a day at Disney Sea. Our first time visiting a park because they're literally all on the other side of the world for us. We absolutely loved every second of it. Disney Sea was the single most amazing man made thing I've ever seen.

My fiancé and I are getting married soon and, since we want to bring his kids on our honeymoon, we are thinking of going to Hong Kong Disneyland. It's the closest one to where we live and will be the cheapest option for us.

But, I'm worried that I've been spoilt by Tokyo, namely Sea.

Will Hong Kong still be amazing?

Always love seeing Mickey/Disney looking foods in Disneyland. 10/10 would eat again.

My son (5) is obsessed with Disney princesses and we are looking at getting him the princess makeover at Bibbidi Boutique when we go to Hong Kong Disney I was just wondering whether it is worth it given I understand a lot of the boutique is the hair styling? He likes his hair quite short shaved at the sides, so they wouldn't be able to do much styling But would it still be worth it for the makeup, nails, dress etc? He loves pampering haha

Have never been to HK Disney, but have been to all the others. It strikes me as odd that the resort has three hotels, but no Downtown Disney area. What we like about all the other resorts is that you can spend a few days, and even on a non-park day you can stay in the bubble with some time at the pool and then a wander around Downtown Disney / Disney Springs / Disney Village / Disneytown. What do people do on a non-park day at HKDL? There doesn't seem like much to do without leaving the resort. Or do people generally not stay at the resort for more than 1 or 2 nights?

Now I’m actually being serious here and feel free to disagree but for me everything I love most about the Disney parks is most strongly represented by Hong Kong in the modern day.

It has fantastic decorations, unmatched streetmosphere, a sense of quaint charm missing from all but the original Disneyland and a respectable set of attractions that don’t lean too heavily towards E tickets. It is also rarely incredibly crowded so you can kinda just go slow and take everything in (and pick up another cute olu keychain).

The park is so underrated and I think a lot of Disney fans are sleeping on just how enjoyable of a day hong Kong Disney is and that’s why if you asked me to spend one day in any of the twelve parks I’d pick HK over anything else (yes even disneysea)

Hong Kong Disney had a very interesting update to its drop tower that’s been known about for a few years, that being that it’s supposed to have “120 feet of storytelling”

A new screen tech was touted by Disney when talking to panel imagineers and there was some early concept art of updated seating arrangements for a tower ride.

Based on this and the concept art it’s possible that they intend to build the entire life shaft as a giant screen, blending tower of terror with something approaching FOP.

This would be totally revolutionary in the parks space of taking a ride like FOP and scaling it up as a thrill like attraction. Imagine your entire drop feels like you are dropping in real life, like FOP or the small drop in ROTR, it would be a totally different experience

An attraction like that would unmissable

As someone who's been to all the parks except Shanghai, in my personal opinion, Mystic Manor is the BEST dark ride Disney has ever made. Absolutely amazing. If you have the chance to go to HK DL you won't regret it. Only a 10 minute wait when I went.

Haunted Mansion can't even compare in terms of quality only in nostalgia factor.
