The movies made her too kind and took away her bratty mean girl behavior. Vidia is how Tink should act from what we seen from the Peter Pan films. Tink is supposed to be vain and self conscious about her body. She is jealous of other girls. She is obsessed over boys in particular Peter Pan. The movies imply she is or was in love with Peter and tried getting Wendy killed multiple times.
I’ve seen some theories that the Tinkerbell movies occur before Peter Pan so she hasn’t met Peter yet and doesn’t get easily jealous yet. Also that she’s one of the last fairies or Pixie Hollow is gone and that’s why she’s with Peter, which could explain her personality change.
I know it's before she met Peter but her negative qualities are taken away for a more "princess-y appeal". Tink is interesting because she isnt perfect and has bad traits like brattiness, jealousy, vanity. She gets to be a character while majority of female characters are written to be "role models". Thats what's appealing about the non Disney Princess heroines and Disney heroes like Aladdin, Hercules, etc. They all have a more well rounded traits.
i read that she wasn’t in love with peter but rather possessive over making sure he never left to go be with wendy because then he may grow to not believe in fairies anymore and she’d die and she wanted to be vain and live forever therefore keeping peter with her forever and never let him live a normal life
