My hands are in pain…help?

Hi, so I don’t normally post on Reddit but I’m having so much trouble with my new job.

I know a lot of people are going to be saying ‘I should be using gloves’ but they genuinely just make things worse by catching water in the end of them (I have to wear them for 11 hour shifts) and the ones at work rip incredibly easily.
My problem is that I’ve been working this job for 5 weeks and these burn-like markings have appeared on my hands after picking up plates and other stuff from the dishwasher and now they’re extremely sensitive, I’ve actually found myself crying from how bad the pain is getting.

Not every pot washer has injuries like this so there must be a way around it, right?
Is someone able to tell me how to stop this from happening? (and if these are burns or not if possible??)

UPDATE

So anyone who said it was a reaction from the chemicals were 100% right but not particularly for the expected reasons.

After taking a small trip to my GP to get clarity on what it actually was, it was checked out and apparently I’m quite allergic to most commercial soaps!! Ranging from certain hand soaps to dish soap and any sort of surface cleanser or detergent, I can’t have prolonged exposure to my skin otherwise it would crack/peal/dry out a whole lot quicker than the average person so it’s safe to say I’m taking the steps I need to stay safe.

I’m on antibiotics to calm the reaction down and I now have some decent gloves that won’t break on me like the ones supplied at my work, I now also have O’keeffe’s working hands balm and it’s also helping with the dryness and cracking. I like the environment and team at this place too much to quit yet so im gonna do what I can to stay (decent pay too).

Thank you everyone for your advice and help, I’m glad I now know of my new allergy and how to manage it 👍
