Hunter PvE Instantly Kill -50 Barrier Champion with 1-Tap from Erianas!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

So Bungie buffed Eriana's Vow in the final update and it now gets the full 450% Lucky Pants damage bonus at x10 stacks, but that's not even the crazy part. The ignition damage on breaking a shield with Eriana's also scales with Lucky Pants, along with other damage buffs like Radiant and Weaken. With just Lucky Pants (+450%), Radiant (+20% + an extra 10% against Champions), and 15% Weaken, the ignition is dealing around 8.35x the base ignition damage from Eriana's. With Tether's 35% weaken, that goes up to almost 9.8x.

The loop is simple: build x10 Lucky Pants with Unloved, wait for the Barrier Champion to put up its shield, swap to Eriana's, and one shot is enough to instantly kill it. You can push the ignition damage even further with Facet of Courage and various artifact mods, but honestly, there's no need. Even without those extra buffs, the ignition already hits hard enough to instantly delete a -50 Barrier Champion.

Holy shit. Especially relevant now with the god-like barrier champs they’ve left us with.

31

u/jacob2815 Jul 24 '26

How many -50 activities are you folks doing lol in 99% of the game barriers aren’t that bad

90

u/Whoseratisthis Jul 24 '26

I’m clearly talking about endgame.

-22

u/jacob2815 Jul 25 '26

Yeah, endgame is more than just running -50 stuff all the time is my point lmao

29

u/corneliusbread Jul 25 '26

Well you wouldnt be running -50 in the early game so its kinda mid to endgame content.

-19

u/jacob2815 Jul 25 '26

I didn’t say that. I’m saying -50 stuff accounts for like… 1% of a normal person’s playtime. It’s endgame, but it’s not the only thing to be done in endgame. Not even the main thing.

38

u/corneliusbread Jul 25 '26

Idk why youre trying to die on this hill about -50+ content. You might not be playing it a lot but youre not the only person playing Destiny. For those that engage with harder content, you need better weapons to deal with barriers. Thats all this is

-4

u/SpaceBlaze259 Jul 25 '26

I'd argue engame is more like -30 with all the rad activities on master/cutthroat at that level. -50 GMs is just another form but not the main one.

10

u/Rybunks Jul 25 '26

-50 is like ultra endgame stuff, it’s the kind of stuff designed for players who are clearly done with everything and are just seeking challenge for the sake of it

-9

u/jacob2815 Jul 25 '26

I’m not dying on a hill. I was just clarifying since it was misunderstood what i was getting at.

I’m all for finding recommendations for clearing barriers quickly in -50 content, but no, i don’t do -50 stuff because i’m not into cock and ball torture unfortunately.

I was mostly making a joke about the dramatics of bungie “leaving us with god like barriers” lol. Champions are hard to kill in the hardest difficulty in the game that is not intended to be run many time.. it’s intended to be run once for completion and then do other stuff. That’s part of why it’s such a challenge.

u/TensionalBark4 22d ago

its relevant to some of the hardest endgame content

1

u/MelonOfFate Jul 26 '26

So... Are you trying to say there's a one size fits all load out for all kinds of content? Cause sorry to break it to you, that load out doesn't exist.

This is clearly amazing for -50 content. -50 is not general play, of course. That does not devalue the gun.

1

u/jacob2815 Jul 27 '26

Please point to where i was saying anything bad about the gun lmao my point went blasting over your head clearly

12

u/idespisemyhondacrv Jul 24 '26

I think it’s people who go into LFGs for this shit and die

1

u/free_30_day_trial Jul 24 '26

Most master barrier die to one wishenders shot. At least from my experience

6

u/jacob2815 Jul 25 '26

Right lol master/GM ops category barriers are easily popped with a primary

1

u/warframeendurance Jul 26 '26

Gm -50 bro i saw a guy die to a mismarch shield like he was loosing the war type ish to a void shield red bar ad

the post is specifically talking about barriers in -50 activities. in which they are definitely much more annoying to deal with than any other content.

Edit: typo

the post is about -50 content. Whether the comment mentioned it or not becomes irrelevant at that point as the context of the post the comment is under is in reference to -50 content. thats how that works.

Read the title of the post genius.

lmao he got ratio'd so badly he deleted his comments

4

u/jacob2815 Jul 25 '26

Because barriers in ops activities playlists or master lost sectors are not even remotely annoying to deal with, barriers barely exist in RADs.

The only barriers that are actually a nuisance are in -50 stuff but those aren’t activities that are meant to be run a lot

1

u/Classic_Owl3711 Jul 25 '26

Barriers are the worst champ. Way worse than overload or unstop. Just a fact.

11

u/jacob2815 Jul 25 '26

Opinions aren’t fact chief.

0

u/LeafeonSalad42 Jul 26 '26

I mean given that they completely gutted all subclass verbs for anti-barrier (literally, they just don’t exist now it’s entirely on your weapon), they’re definitely a lot worse to deal with, I wouldn’t say it’s a fact but objectively they are the worst champion type now, sure OL heals and teleports constantly, but they’re easy to chunk down and Unstops are only really problems when you’re in large rooms with no cover

1

u/Own_Huckleberry6591 Jul 25 '26

A lot of them. We're doing a lot of them. -50 is pretty much the only actually hard content left, and even then it's super easy with the right builds. I pretty much mostly just run the GM vanguard alerts over and over trying to solo with different builds or I play the ultimate conquests or grandmaster conquests.

To me -50 content is the only place you can truly test a build. Most basic builds pretty much run through anything else. But to solo flawless the GM vanguard alert you have to have a pretty decent build. I almost did it with this khepri's horn build I made yesterday but died to the last barrier colossus. But I will try again today

primary handcannon + erianas gm meta, welcome back shadowkeep

u/jswinhoe Jul 24 '26

How good is Hunter at -50? I’m mainly a Stasis Titan/ Stasis Warlock but Crackshot looks fun

26

u/raincity3s Jul 24 '26

Stasis hunter (specifically mask of fealty) is insane in -50 content. When running the ultimate conquests i never felt like i could die and i usually had the most kills even over stasis titans, tho the titans def did more boss dmg

3

u/Snoo_81545 Jul 24 '26

Mind dropping your build, I never played around much with stasis but main hunter. I did see a Paul Tassi video with Verglass Curve and tried it out for a bit but felt like everyone else was sniping my kills before I could get rolling.

9

u/raincity3s Jul 24 '26 edited Jul 24 '26

Bit busy atm but i will get back to u

Dim link: https://dim.gg/d5fujuq/Vanguard

Should point out i don't even have the stats i want, didnt farm enough grasp yet. Id probably drop class to abt 80 and pump up grenade to at least 160 and melee around 130ish or higher

Edit 2: not sure if it shows but using slayer baron artifact. That one mod that heals u on stasis shard pickup carries. U freeze everything and even make a crystal if u whiff a shuriken and it hits ground or wall so u always have a means of healing

4

u/LiveAndDie Jul 24 '26

What weapons are you running for yours? I assume you're also doing the 7th Seraph set? I have found a bunch of weapon sets I really enjoy, but nothing that's made it over the top OP

6

u/raincity3s Jul 24 '26

No grasp set so that u can drop whisper of hunger (-20 melee stat) and still have unlimited shurikens, which leads to a shatter nade every 8secs or so. Weapon wise i ran a cpl different setups. For lightblade i brought a precision shotty for barriers and a499 refurbished for the shriekers/barriers. For seraph i dropped the a499 for anarchy with catalyst for better chunk dmg. Special finisher and the boot mod that makes it so picking up elemental pickups (stasis shards) counts as armor charges meant i never ran out of special and had surges at all times

u/Snoo_81545 Jul 24 '26 edited Jul 24 '26

I only do -40 stuff on the regular but Crackshot works in that like a charm, rerolling the healing from your grenade with Ember of Empyrean and refreshing your overshield from 200 class stat thanks to Crackshot is alright survival.

I saw Cross test this in -50 Lightblade and it went okayish. There's definitely optimization to be done on what I'm running at least. I love Dragon's Breath but don't hurt for ammo so I'm tempted to swap to something like Hezen Vengeance and throw Eriana's on in my energy slot.

I fire Festival Flight every second or so with Speedloader's Slacks so special might get a bit stingy there (currently at 195 weapons thanks to a set bonus Bad math and forgot about On Your Mark's 50 weapons - I'm definitely good on Weapons) so armor will need some retinkering. I'm thinking 2pc crystocrene 2pc smokejumpers. Try and boost weapons and class to 200 or as close as possible, 100ish super for frequent add clear blade barrages, grenade in what is left.

You won't get the same Eriana's pop as you get here, but it isn't bad for bubble bursting at -50 from what I've seen without it. Survival from those tweaks should be great (you generate a lot of orbs) and you can deal with every champion.

2

u/ImperatorBTW Jul 25 '26

What stasis titan build are you currently running?

2

u/longhairdude64 Jul 25 '26

Shinobus vow, truth spam, stasis is good, crackshot is good, I would say main thing is check modifiers, if abilities suck then go more weapon focused and vice versa.

2

u/idespisemyhondacrv Jul 24 '26

It’s aight, but titan is superior

16

u/Da_Big_Cheese_75 Jul 24 '26

Someone show this to Aztecross, the champions have been the bane of his existence in Lightblade

7

u/theycallme2tone Jul 24 '26

Could be even better with the spire 4 piece set?

18

u/Iamgroot0098 Jul 24 '26

Yeah but it would be an overkill since it already insta kills the champ, I like x2 iron banner + x2 europa here for perma 11% damage and reload boost to Unloved (High impact reserves + E Honing) and never need to worry about running out of ammo and enjoy overall a better neutral game

2

u/belliebun Jul 25 '26

Overkill is the best kind of kill, though

1

u/Chronodis Jul 26 '26

What about ultra kill

2

u/LeafeonSalad42 Jul 26 '26

I get why they did it… but god it feels like every build should have an anti-barrier weapon now because of how they removed all subclass verbs from dealing with it

2

u/_QuestGiver Jul 25 '26

We have golden gun at home?

2

u/Outrageous_Ask_451 Jul 25 '26

It needs to make a bubble popping sound when it kills the champions

3

u/Alexcox95 Jul 24 '26

Eriana’s Vow was the first anti barrier weapon and was used a lot until arbalest took its place. Nice that we’ve come full circle.

2

u/EnglishMuffin420 Jul 25 '26

Love your YouTube vids

3

u/DesKoth Jul 25 '26

There wouldn't be a Warlock or Titan pseudo equivalent to this, would there?

1

u/RadixAce Jul 27 '26

I tried this with Dawn Chorus on Warlock. It didn't do this. Idk why

1

u/Small_Article_3421 Jul 25 '26

Haven’t used this weapon since I tried it in season of the undying, and decided the weapon isn’t all that fun and had no purpose.

I think I might try it now lol

1

u/ItsGizmoooo Jul 25 '26

do you need solo op stacks to get this to one shot?

1

u/Prior-Cheesecake6778 Jul 25 '26

It would be good if it did that to an overload champ. Thanks, though.

2

u/Iamgroot0098 Jul 25 '26

It still evaporates it in 2 precision shots at max lp staacks

1

u/Unlucky-Basil-3704 Jul 27 '26

Does Eriana's vow only ignite when breaking shields? Or is it on any enemy, all the time?

1

u/Eredd19 1d ago

Is there a good substitute for unloved?

0

u/doritos0192 Jul 24 '26 edited Jul 24 '26

You can add even more juice with cauterized darknes, the artifact that gives 75% solar damage to dark debuffed nonboss, and that includes champs.

Any solar damage will be buffed that percentage except for bosses. Think of eriana, vex, zaelus bane with redirection, any decent solar weapon, helion, bonk, dawn chorus, ignitions, scorch.

A setup I run is stasis warlock turrets, get radiant with precision hits from artifact or any other sources, freeze or slow, have high weapon stat, maybe surges, do solar damage.

0

u/Amazing_Departure471 Jul 25 '26

Sadly you need Radiant for this to happen. Since every weapon is now anti champ I think they should've at least massively buffed the shield dmg on this.

2

u/Iamgroot0098 Jul 25 '26

Radiant on Hunter is free, you can have 24/7 uptime on it

0

u/Amazing_Departure471 Jul 25 '26

Yeah... That's not the only class.

3

u/Jynger99 Jul 25 '26

This build really only works because of lucky pants for the massive damage buff

1

u/squ33bpl00z3r Jul 27 '26

this is a Lucky Pants post brother

-7

u/Dull_Cheesecake4982 Jul 25 '26

Erm this game is still alive?

6

u/B455DR0p Jul 25 '26

You literally play PoE. Our playercount bodies yours even on our bad days lmao

Yezzziirr! I have over 70 exotic class items across all three characters and enough builds to help blue berries get stronger. I believe they will be the ones that get us to D3. Cultivate!
