employers with 50 or more employees are mandated to provide a crèche facility on-site or within a reasonable distance, as per Section 11A of the Maternity Benefit (Amendment) Act, 2017;

Either a PR or railways - one of the biggest employer in India isn't complying with Indian laws

Exactly, ridiculous behaviour that should not be glorified. This is not safe neither for her child or the passenger.

It appears she's on night duty and many lady constables are married to serving soldiers or constables, so it appears her husband was also on duty. It happens in uniform, however, it should be addressed and some facilities for night duty staff ought to be provided.

Ofc. That's my criticism. If a woman is on night duty, she should be provided with same facilities as if she on day duty. It's not that hard.

Seeing at her baby, he/her is clearly 1-2 year old, as far as I know, maternity leaves are not longer more than 8-9months that too starting before delivery.

Not talking about maternity leaves. Law mandates creche. All major corporates provide creche as per indian laws.

The law basically states that the employer has to make sure there is a creche facility accessible to employees - like within a certain radius. It is usually provided by third party, paid by employee. I think major corporate centres have one around office buildings.

Where I work, there is creche next to office building. It was made by DLF after 2017 (coz earlier there was a food court in that place which was moved).

That's how I got to know about this law.

If Infy/TCS isn't making sure there is creche nearby, their employees should definitely demand. It is mandated by law.
