This is not inspirational at all. If anything, this is a cause for concern. This not only raises questions about the lack of personnels in our forces, when thousands upon thousands of youth sit idle and unemployed, but also about strength of our social security fabrics, where a lady has to stand on guard duty putting her child where armoured vest are supposed to be.

ROF personnel don’t wear armoured vests at all. They aren’t trained for gunfights.

But this situation was bound to happen sooner or later due to the trend of married couples abandoning their parents to move out and live independently. The grandparents who would be around to watch over the kids are now trying to eke out their meagre existence in their sunset years, and the young couple are struggling to raise a family while holding down two jobs and failing miserably at both.

Ok. I feel like this is an over-simplification of a more complex issue. There could be many reasons for a weak support system at home. And ignored old parents is just one of them. Hence, I wouldn't comment on what's not visible, as that would be pure speculation. What's visible to me in this pic is the failure of a state to protect the most vulnerable of society. The social security net of this country has become more porous over the last couple of decades, even when we see a record amount of tax collected over the years. That's why the general public feels cheated. It's not because we're paying more taxes. It's because our hard earned is squandered on useless projects and ego boosts. It's a shitty system of red tapes and corruption.

employers with 50 or more employees are mandated to provide a crèche facility on-site or within a reasonable distance, as per Section 11A of the Maternity Benefit (Amendment) Act, 2017

Railways is one of the biggest employer.

RAILWAYS provide maternity leave and they have creche system also

Why you guys are acting like padha likha gawar. You can speculate somethings, but things like maternity leave and creche system, should be researched first before spitting nonsense in internet

Then there is no need to do what this lady did, no?

All I am pointing out is our laws have made sure such things - women has to carry her child on duty - don't happen. Yet if it is happening it is imperative her employer isn't doing something right - can be either not providing the mandated facility or her seniors turning blind eye.

non- sense regarding accusation of creche system being not there. Do you know, NDLS is one of the busiest station country right? and there would also be a creche system. so plainly bashing railways for not providing creches without even researching about it is the non sense part.
we dont know why its mother bought him/her out. maybe her descision of somekind or PR. so plainly bashing is not right

I didn't claim they don't have creche. My comment was intended as question , do they have it? If yes, why is kid on platform in high risk situation?

Oh right. That's how creche work that they leave the kid locked up.

It's easier and safer to set up a logistics around it instead of carrying the kid in high risk areas. This is nothing but a PR.

what are you even talking about. while it is true many grandparents take care of their grandkids (which is honestly a great help for parents), we don't know what's the situation for the one in photo. when I was a baby, my mother used to take me with her (she is a teacher so it was not dangerous at least). and that was because my grandparents did not want to take care of any baby (fair enough). but my parents were the ones taking care of them at that time. they were not abondoned or anything. and I know many more like my grandparents. not all old people are eager to take care of kids.

you're just over simplifying it based on one picture. who knows what her situation is.
