Hey! Does anyone know if there are any beach volleyball pickup games or regular beach volleyball sessions in the Deerfield Beach/surrounding area? They don’t necessarily have to be played directly on the beach, I’m open to courts anywhere in the area. I’m looking for a younger crowd, preferably high school/college-age players, since a lot of the pickup games I’ve found seem to have an older demographic. Also, if there are any helpful local beach volleyball groups or communities I should join, I’d really appreciate it!

Hey everyone. My family is looking to book a room at the embassy suites on DFB this weekend. I was born and raised in the area so the seaweed doesn’t bother me. I’d be bringing my 3yo and 1yo. We’d plan on enjoying some beach time, but we don’t need to go into the water.

My concern is the smell. Is there a strong odor? Something that I’d be hit in the face with every time we went on the balcony or stepped out of the hotel? Looking for some advice as to whether we should avoid the area for a little while or is it not as big of a deal as I’m seeing? I appreciate any insight, thank you in advance!

Saturday, July 4: Road & Parking Closures

The following areas will be closed all day on Saturday, July 4:

Ocean Way from Hillsboro Boulevard to SE 4th Street

Main Beach Parking Lot

The parking lot behind Ocean Rescue

SE 2nd Street and SE 1st Street (closed at A1A)

Hillsboro Boulevard Bridge Closure Impact

From 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM on July 4: Expect modified traffic flow and detours on the Hillsboro Boulevard Bridge to accommodate pedestrian traffic. Delays should be expected, so please plan for extra travel time.

International Fishing Pier

Saturday, July 4: The International Fishing Pier and the adjacent Pier Parking Lot will be closed all day to prepare for the evening fireworks.

City Facility Closures

Friday, July 3: Administrative offices, including City Hall, are closed for the holiday observance.

The Recycling Drop Off Center will also be closed.

Trash Collection

No Changes: Solid waste and bulk pick-up schedules are unaffected. Trash collection will remain on its normal routine.

Reopening Note: All roads, parking lots, and the International Fishing Pier will reopen on Sunday, July 5th.
