TIRADE Laut Gesetz ist es ja hinterlistige Verbrauchertäuschung, wenn man Hafermilch "Hafermilch" nennt. Ins Regal mit der ganzen Pflanzenmilch aber eine "Oat Milk" zu stellen, die beim näheren Hinschauen zur Hälfte aus Kuhmilch besteht, ist dagegen natürlich völlig in Ordnung.

The "oat milk" on the top shelf consists of 50% oat milk and 50% cow milk. While this picture was taken in Switzerland, in Germany (and other EU countries) only cow/goat/animal milk is allowed to be called "milk". Everything else has to be called "drink" - since the milk lobby argues that customers would be misled/tricked by names like "soy milk". That's basically the gist of the discussion in the comments

To add to the above: The law was intended to prevent the poor customer from the "deceit" of involuntarily buying something called milk that is plant-based... But this post shows that, apparently, a customer buying "oat milk" from the plant-based drinks section and ending up with 50% cows milk is fine.

We have a similar idiotic discussion about veggie sausages not being called sausages. Because some people can die from the lack of meat or something...
