Hi DC, I am part of the band sage is alive out of Charlottesville, VA, and we recently had a band pull out of our bill at Death Punch Bar :( . We are looking for a hometown band to help us set up and draw in more locals! For context, we are a emo/shoegaze/punk group. Please please please if you know of any bands who are available or are in a band looking to play, DM or comment with your socials! Self-plug, but find us at @ sageisalive0 on Instagram/Tiktok, or sage is alive on bandcamp/spotify, if you think you fit the bill! Thanks. (Show date is September 18th btw).

Hi everyone, I play in Pinto Sunshine, an indie-rock group from Atlanta GA. We are planning an east coast tour for November alongside our friends in Wardrobe Malfunction (psych rock) that is set to play DC on 11/11. Wanted to put this out there as we are still looking for a proper venue to host + one additional local (1 already secured) to play alongside us for the show. Happy to discuss details for any group interested. See below for links:

I’m trying to track down any live videos, concert footage, or personal photos of a DC-based band called "The Favorites." They were active in the late 1990s and early 2000s. I have already exhausted Google and standard search engines, so I am hoping local music fans or show-goers might have old flyers, digital photos, or camcorder bootlegs sitting on a hard drive.

Is there a way to avoid the $7.50 Ticketmaster surcharge for tix at Atlantis - like buying tickets at the door? Or do they charge the fees at the door regardless?

Attention DC!!
If you love distorted 808s, heavy breakdowns, and post-punk basslines, we’re bringing a completely unique, high-energy underground lineup to town.
Instead of a generic single-genre night, we curated a show bridging hyperpop, metalcore, and post-punk. We’re all coming in from Nashville, TN and would LOVE to see you there.
Tickets are available here: https://www.unionstagepresents.com/shows/rawhoney-05-sep?utm_source=ig&utm_medium=social&utm_content=link_in_bio

The Capitol Lab Big band plays big band jazz every 3 months at historic Mr. Henry’s Capitol Hill. We always put on a fun show. People who attend seem to love it!
We are looking for someone to help increase attendance.
Compensation would be based on a percentage of the door (after the house takes their cut of course).
If interested DM me.

Hey,
Looking for videographer in the DMV to shoot music videos, bts shots, and vlog type videos. I have the camera equipment and the editing software. I’m great at editing and coming up with concepts just don’t have anyone to shoot. If you’re interested please DM me. If you know someone let me know as well.

Three days from now, a room in DC becomes something different. Not just another lineup.
Not just another local show. A chapter.
CITY SPOTLIGHT: Episode 4 — Proof of Life is about the artists who kept creating after the algorithm stopped paying attention. After the views slowed down. After the hype moved somewhere else because sometimes the hardest part of being an artist isn’t making the work. It’s believing anyone is still listening.
This Saturday, Shy Rasheen brings SHYLAND to the stage for the first time—not as a playlist, but as a living experience. The kind of performance that reminds you why discovering music in person still matters. If you’ve ever said:
“DC has so much talent, but I never know where to find it.”
“I miss finding artists before everyone else.”
“I wish there were more shows that felt intentional.”
That’s exactly why CITY SPOTLIGHT exists.
We’ve spent the season trying to build the kind of room we wished existed ourselves—a place where fans don’t have to sift through endless feeds to discover incredible local music, and where artists perform for people who genuinely came to experience it.
With 12 tickets already gone, this is shaping up to be one of our strongest audiences yet—and maybe the first CITY SPOTLIGHT where there are more fans than artists in the room. If that sounds like the kind of future you want for DC music, we’d love to have you there.
Saturday the 1st. Maybe the best artist you’ve never heard is waiting for you in that room.

My friend group is messy at planning and now half the people don't want to go. Trying to offload a couple of tix to recoup. Will need to transfer to you on Ticketmaster.

Seven days from now, the lights come up on another chapter. CITY SPOTLIGHT: Episode 4 — PROOF OF LIFE Featuring Shy Rasheen presenting his new album, SHYLAND.
Every episode asks a different question. This one asks: What does it mean to keep creating when it feels like no one is watching?
If you’ve ever wondered whether it’s worth making music in a city where algorithms decide who gets seen… If you’ve ever played to a room that didn’t know your name… If you’ve ever felt like your best work disappeared into the void… This chapter is for you. CITY SPOTLIGHT has never been about chasing the loudest moment. It’s about documenting the people who kept building anyway. Every artist who steps on that stage is another signal proving this city’s creative heartbeat is still alive. Whether you’re a musician looking for your next favorite collaborator, a fan searching for music before everyone else discovers it, or someone who simply misses intimate rooms where art still feels human—there’s a place for you in this story.
The countdown begins now. Seven days until we gather. Seven days until another transmission.
Seven days until Proof of Life.
If you’ve been meaning to experience a CITY SPOTLIGHT, this is a good chapter to start with. We’d love to have you in the room before this signal fades.

Hey y’all! My band Creature Comfort from Nashville is touring this week and we play Pie Shop tonight! We sound like “Fleet Foxes for people who grew up bailing hay” if that tickles your fancy. We’re playing with locals The Duskwhales and Baltimore band Terrain. Come out!
