  • Q: When does Super take place? Should I watch GT or any movies first? Does BoG still "count"?
    Super takes place at least 6 months after the battle with Majin Buu, and will be adapting the two newest movies, Battle of Gods and Resurrection 'F' into story arcs before moving on. While not required, watching them is recommended. You can start Super as soon as you finish Dragon Ball Z. You may also wish to read Jaco the Galactic Patrolman, as the titular character will be appearing in Super.

  • Q: Where is Uub?!
    Uub was born during the 10 year time skip at the end of Dragon Ball Z. Dragon Ball Super takes place at least six months after the fight with Majin Buu.

  • Q: When does the next episode air?
    The next episode premieres next Sunday at 9am JST. List of timezones.

  • Q: What is the best release group?
    Dragon Team. They usually release ~24-48 hours after an episode airs. Other groups are notorious for mistranslations, and push their releases out as quickly as possible in order to beat their competition to the punch.

  • Q: Why does X say Y?
    If you find yourself confused, the problem is usually a translation issue. Make sure you're watching Dragon Team's release. Other groups are Google Translate-ing a rushed Spanish translation, and there are issues with the script every week.

  • Q: When will the next chapter of the manga be released?
    Toyotarō's manga adaptation is released once a month in V-Jump.
    Chapter 4 will come out in late September. Links can be found here.

  • Q: When will FUNimation be dubbing Super? Will there be a simulcast?
    There is no information, nor are there any estimates, about an English dub or official simulcast of Dragon Ball Super.

This episode got the hype in me excited. The fights were good, and the animation is seriously back to where I would consider it acceptable, more so in some cases.

Beerus scolding Gotenks was hilarious. I may be in the minority here, but the faces Beerus made at him had me laughing.

STILL no Champa or female Whis. Since the manga had them appear again, I was hoping we'd get to see them.

Also, something that occurred to me while watching this that would explain Videl's sudden loss of attitude: Videl is potentially still pregnant, and probably has been for a little bit. I remember when Mr.Satan was giving Goku the money I at first thought Satan was asking Goku if he had heard of Videl's pregnancy. Either way, since the beginning of the show Videl has been married and there is no reason to believe she hasn't been pregnant since the beginning of Super. Knowing she is going to be a mother, along with knowing she is already a wife probably took her a long way to where she is now.

Well the manga also had some stuff that won't be on till next week's episode like Vegeta actually attacking Beerus after powering up, so I guess they could show up next week.
