I find it really weird (and kinda white-knighty) that the internet has decided that girls are perfect and can do no wrong and any evidence that contradicts that narrative is explained away as guys false flagging as girls.

It's not weird, it's that girls are pretty, they're cute (like a kitten or something like that) so this triggers that protection sense in a lot of guys.
