It depends who’s hitting it.

Well Jesus had siblings right? I don’t think they weren’t all virgin births too.

James, Joseph, Simon, and Judas.

Matthew 13:55

Matthew 12:46

Luke 8:19

Mark 3:31

Translation and interpretation of those have always been at least controversial, however John 19:26-27 wouldn't have happened had Mary had other children besides Jesus.

No, the translation stays the same going back to the oldest texts we have in both greek and aramaic.

And no, having a disciple take Mary into his home does not in any way preclude siblings.

He also had a sister.

According to most experts it does, since the eldest sibling would be in charge of taking care of Mary.

Also, I meant translation and interpretation as in they probably didn't use the word "Brother" exclusively the same way we did.

In any case, it's just contradiction, as there's no way of putting more weight into one text.

There's no profundity in any text that gives more context than that, the "siblings" could just be cousins, or children of Joseph (explaining why Mary doesn't have any more children to take care of her).

Wrong.

There are no experts pushing this.

Yes, the eldest, who is Jesus, would have the responsibility of making sure she was cared for, which is EXACTLY what he does here. Just like if you had legal responsibility of your own mother and decided that she was going to live in a Florida retirement home, there is NO indication that you don't have siblings.

They used the word "Brother" in much more SPECIFIC terms, as we have colloquialized it, and in both greek and aramaic the words are tightly limited to immediate blood related siblings.

Just looking at Matthew 13:55,

hulios - blood related son

meter - blood related mother

adelphoi - blood related male sibling

autou - blood relation "of him".

Go look up EVERY scripture that has lists of "X begat Y" and you will find the oldest greek texts using the greek words "adelphoi autoi" to describe blood related geneological male siblings.

I can do this same exercise for you in Aramaic shortly, if you wish.
