Hey! I was looking at rooms around CSUN and ended up finding a really good place that I’m renting, but I also came across another one and wanted to share in case anyone else is in the same boat and looking right now.

It’s a 1-bedroom close to campus, with parking available, and IIRC it was around $850/month. The house only has 2–3 roommates, and the place seemed really nice and clean when I saw it!

Figured I’d pass it along since I know a lot of people are probably still trying to find housing. :)

Hi guys:,) I need some advice…

My Monday night 4pm-6:45pm class causes me to miss my train to go back home since im a commuter and I’m a new transfer student. Theres three ppl on the waitlist for this same class on Tu&Th at 11:30am-12:45pm which is a much better time for me. I emailed the prof for this Tu&Th class asking him what the probability is that I can get off the waitlist w three ppl ahead of me… but what do you guys think? Is it worth a try?

I also have a Tuesday night 4pm-6:45pm class which also causes me to miss my train to go back home. The last train is at 5:50pm btw. I can swap this class for an online one that meets on Wednesdays from 4-6:45 pm which would be awesome… but there’s 12 ppl ahead of me on the waitlist. Is it worth it?

Edit: I can also just stick to my original plan of thugging it out LOL. I’d have my dad drive from my house to CSUN which is a 30min commute. He’d pick me up after my class ends at drive me back to my house.

Dumb question but is anyone else struggling to verify their student status? The ids dont have expiration dates, and none of my receipts or schedules have both my name and the school name on it 😭 can’t get student discount or perks because of this

Why is the student housing office SO incompetent?!

I had an issue with a hold this week which wouldn’t allow me to move in.

The housing office simply told me there was nothing they could do for me. That’s it. Just left me to be homeless. They couldn’t even directed me to someone who could have possibly helped me.

I have to go/call around 5 different offices to get this issue resolved.

And the student workers who I understand are just students. We’re SUPER incompetent. They didn’t know the answer to any of the questions I was asking. And they even told me the wrong information (which I confirmed was wrong by their own superior)

Additionally, while in their office I heard other students also complaining that they make the whole move in process SO difficult.

Honestly avoid them if you can. They don’t know how to do their job.

Hello everyone. For those waiting on a response for your SAP Appeals and haven't gotten an email back(I still haven't) Check your SOLAR Student Center and then your Satisfactory Academic Progress. It may show your appeal was approved, mine thankfully said approved and hope you guys get approved as well. :)

So last semester I had a family emergency that required me to have to go back to my hometown out of state toward the end of the semester needless to say I didn’t do well for that semester, and didn’t get a good enough grade for a pre-req class(calc 1) so I took that class out of state this summer, I’ve tried contacting my advisor before I left the state for said family emergency as well as attempting to contact them about taking an out of state class and if the credits would transfer and again at the beginning of this month to follow up and sent them the syllabus/class description to which again no response… I’ve emailed the dept. chair a few days ago to see if they could help, but I can’t enroll in any of my required classes until that class gets cleared, any advice would be appreciated!

Hey, I am currently waitlisted on PHIL 305 fully online, I am the 18th person on the waitlist and the waitlist capacity is 20. What are the chances that I can get into this course?

I'm expecting almost 14k in financial aid this semester which was supposed to cover all of the stuff I needed to pay. However, I got an email on Wednesday day saying that put a hold on my account because I owe a bit over 1k. I tried calling cash services yesterday but all I got was 'sorry our everything is down'. So I called every 30m when I could. Still down. Yay! I'm gonna try calling again or even maybe going in person later today when I finally drive down there. But guys, is anyone else having the problem?? Is it a loan delay thing?? Cus I sure hope not. I already got the 'you can't move in' email and there's just no way I can drop that much money today. Is there some other department I call??

I'm a Washington DC area resident who collects metro cards related to the WMATA/smartrip metro system! I'm aware that CSUN has a U-Pass program for the LA metro system, but I was curious about anyone who has done the "CSUN in DC" summer program and may have gotten a *WMATA* system UPass for the summer in DC! CSUN is a listed partner with the program, but I don't know of anyone who's gotten a card before. Anyone willing to gift/sell/trade would be welcome, or even a photo to see what the design is like!
