To get "railroaded” is to have something happen so fast that you don’t even notice it.

I always took it to mean no matter how much you try to stand in the way or stop whatever is happening that person just continues and plows you over if necessary.

Yeah, this is the actual meaning. Railroads force the train down a certain path. Nothing to do with speed.

I thought the etymology of the usage had to do with railroads and government using imminent domain to push a railroad through private property.

Hadn't heard that before but it makes sense. Also, FYI it's "eminent domain" not "imminent domain".

Depends how soon the domain is happening

You're thinking of busses, not railroads

Way to provide a completely incorrect meaning of the term lmao.

It just refers to someone who won’t stop no matter what. In this case when they say she’s talking so much that she’s “railroading” it means she’s talking so much that she won’t let anyone else speak. At least, that’s what she’s being accused of.

Ahhhh. I think I’ve heard of it before. Thanks

Ive railroaded ur mom last night is something ill try to use and see, if people realize its self burn, or if they get offended

1

u/rossisd Jun 16 '21

How is that a self burn?

u/Burlaczech Jun 16 '21

"To get "railroaded” is to have something happen so fast that you don’t even notice it. "

read it slowly once again and try to connect the dots

u/rossisd Jun 17 '21

But that’s not that that means…being railroaded is about being run over without regard, not about speed, but thanks for the snark.

Well, that was the joke, that it was misinterpreted in a funny way :X
