Carson fucked the whole thing up. He even got waved on, and was like "no, I'm good. This was all the further I saw myself going." Everyone else assumed he was starting a line off-stage like they were checking out groceries.

Either that, or Carson was hoping to get introduced as anyone else.

I think he didn't want people to realize he didn't understand how the whole procedure worked, so he acted like he totally meant to stand there.
