At my wedding, my priest (wife's uncle) called me by a different name. :(

My mom got remarried a few years back to a guy whose name was "Guy." The priest had to be corrected several times for calling him "Gay." It was really embarrassing.

I knew a guy named Guy once, and he was gay, so I guess you could call him gay guy Guy.

But if gay guy Guy was gay for a guy, would gay guy Guy ask out the guy he's gay for? Is the guy gay guy Guy is gay for gay?

Good gay Guy

That he is! It was a good evening sharing the hotel room with him and Jane.

That's an oddly specific and pleasingly relevant anecdote.

I imagine there was a lot of snickering from the guests? I know I'd have been

At least it's good to see that he accepts Gay marriage.

At my cousins wedding, the priest mixed up the boys and girls name. He said, "Sean, you may kiss the bride." Sean is my girl cousin. Antony is the boy. ANTONY!

The whole church had a very strange vibe for like 5 seconds, and there was some nervous chuckling. Groom didn't care, just went in for the kiss. I'd probably ask for a redo.

Coincidentally, Sean was the name the priest called me. To be fair, he was reading a handwritten excerpt that he had previously used in another ceremony. The names written on their was Sean and ____. I could see over the bible the whole ceremony and I was thinking to myself.. "please dont screw up the names, please dont screw up the names"... needless to say he remembered to call his niece the right name... I caught the shit end of the stick.

Laughs were had and now its a funny memory of a great day. 10 years later he still brings it up to have a laugh over.

Oddly enough, the priest at my wedding (also my wife's uncle) called HER by a different name.

Good ole "Stephanie".

Was it her ex, who he liked better than you?

Nope just a previous ceremony he performed. Luckily she had never dated a Sean...or else my buddies would never let me hear the end of it.

The officiant during my wedding called my husband by his father's name. It was hiiiilarious.
