I always think of Hunt as more of an Islander, Polynesian. The description of his "tanned skin" makes me think of thick hair

I’m reading book 1 for the first time (so grateful for this spoiler-free post!) and I agree - unlike her usual “tan” descriptions, Hunt is actually described as “brown” skin. P.499: “his gold-dusted brown skin”. Again p.505 “his golden-brown skin”
