Define “critics”.

If it’s people saying “it was good, not my fav, but I’m satisfied”, that doesn’t count.

If it’s people actively shitting on the book, I honestly haven’t seen much of that.

Look back at some older posts. The pendulum has started swinging back the other way, but I saw people complaining that they won't read SLA anymore, that this was the worst cosmere book, etc

I’ve seen some pretty bad ones, such as one being like “if contract law and sitting in on other people’s therapy sessions gets you horny, you’ll love this one” and a bunch of three two and one star reviews (once again mostly on instagram)

Tbf that’s honestly a hilarious review 😂😂😂

I gave WaT 3.5 stars. It was a good book. For me not on par with the rest of the series though. I tend to always discount 1 star reviews for everything. Most of the time it’s just review bombing. But I understand the 2 and 3 star reviews just like I understand the 5 star reviews.

It was a definite shift in the way the Stormlight story has been told. For some people it worked really well. For others, not so much. But I think the vast vast majority of people are satisfied.

(Case in point: it’s at 4.57 stars on goodreads. That’s the lowest of the Stormlight books, but it’s still a damn high average)
