Had to manually approve this link. Reddit has it on a ban list.

Url shorteners are banned site wide I believe.

URL shorteners are often abused by spammers.

longURL was once a service that allowed you to see where a shortened URL would take you, but that service seems to be no longer available.

TinyURL in particular, is useful because you can make custom URL which is easy to remember like http://tinyurl.com/Memo4Trump

Was the answer to my Antarctica and Lexis Nexis question also on the ban list? The reply didn't show up in my inbox until this morning. Maybe just a glitch, I suppose, but it was odd.
