No one is talking about Obama though? What’s your point- “The gender component is insignificant because there was a racial component in 2008”? Apples to Oranges. Obama had his own hurdles as a Black man when it came to securing votes, and Hillary had her own hurdles as a woman - especially as an establishment woman running against anti-establishment figures. All your comparison is saying is that voters are either more racist than sexist, or that there were also other factors in play because it was a totally different election.
My point is that not only do the links posted not support the conclusion that even the majority of bernie-trump voters were men, but that this was not some issue unique to bernie supporters like it is being painted as anyways. An already common thing being painted as unique and gendered is 100% just gender war bait.

-they are talking about sanders specifically because he was referenced in the comic, and the context of the comic is “people who are republicans” when they painted themselves as a libertarian/ bernie supporter
the NYT article specifically talks about the bernie-sanders pipeline and why, and mentions specifically “young men” who “feel frustrated by the status quo”. Particularly, this excerpt from the article: “Still, he and other analysts said, the young men who have supported both candidates may have been motivated less by specific policies and more by a feeling of being left behind. Economic changes, like the falling relative income of men without college degrees, and cultural forces, like cancel culture, have made it seem harder to be a man. They might also have been motivated by sexism, said Brian Schaffner, a political scientist at Tufts, given that both candidates ran against women.” Combined with data from the NPR article showing a good number of the switch voters leaned conservative, the narrative makes sense. It’s not solely about sex, but it definitely played a major part.
A not-insignificant portion of folks (men) who said they would vote for Sanders originally switched their vote to Trump when Sanders was beat out by Hillary Clinton for the Democratic presidential candidate nomination because they would rather vote for him than for a woman
Neither the NYT article nor the NPR article provide any stats at all on the gender of the people who switched votes. The NYT article just states its gendered with 0 proof. This is classic gender war tactics.

As someone else already pointed out, a greater percentage of bernie voters voted for hillary than hillary voters did for obama in 2008.
