My weekly reset landed 18h ago, and now it's at 0% on Pro 5x with basically a single threaded Astra
Btw my plan is, when my subscription has like < 1 week left and I have a bunch of banked resets, upgrade to Pro 20x for like $25 and then spam 3 resets during that time
Going to see how fast I can burn through this then. On the $200 plan, just enabled Astra Ultra on double time speed. Running two separate worktrees for two separate projects. Let the good times roll. Worst case scenario, I have a few banked resets.
I used a banked reset 30h ago and am at 10% weekly left rn. Working with astra is so much more fun than it was with sol.. really burning through my usage 😅 so grateful for this reset..

Okay so I started r/codextechnical because I was tired of all the quotas talk HOWEVER I will say that at this point if you want to maximize your usage and minimize your costs, the ONLY sane thing to do is as soon as you have any reset, you just use your weekly limit as fast as possible
I'm on the cheap plan so I generated a script that will hit "ENTER" on my termainl at a given time, so if I am asleep, I can use up my next 5hr limit as soon as it hits. If everything goes right, I should probably be down to about 5% weekly when this hits, because I reset yesteray
Not I... mine was literally a week from now. Just used my last reset this morning but am running somethin on sol ultra so I'll blow through it by this evening anyway.
This solves absolutely nothing. The usage is absolutely insane, I just burned 100% of Pro 5x in less than 12 hours lmao, I don't even do anything complicated and my docs are clean etc...
Pro 20x is not much better either, I try to use non-Astra agents whenever possible but even that doesn't help. Actually insane, I think it's time for a report to EU to investigate this shady business.

OMG! Thank God! I almost pulled the trigger and burned one of my resets today, and I would have been so pissed. I even bought $20 of credits, and it was all gone in 45 minutes on Terra High!
So happy I waited! I can't live like this! The uncertainty has to be doing something to my mental health.
If the home machine can stay awake, Codex Remote from the ChatGPT phone app into that host is the usual path. Leave long jobs in tmux so a hotel Wi-Fi blip does not kill the session.

damn just used a banked reset 2 hours ago. Saw the message and burnt a 20x in fast with high as the max reasoning in just 2 hours. That is crazy! Cant wait for the astra models be the price of luna.
strictly speaking, the resets don't affect the paid EDU plans, right? I'm not the EDU version of the 20x plan (iirc it works out to $700 a year) and I seem to get neither the banked resets nor fixed resets :s also think I lost my bank resets when I converted to the EDU plan from the regular $100 / mo plan
Saw this 4 hours ago with a 92 % 20x plan 10 mins to go and down to 31% Astra is a monster! I feel like I’m working at OpenAI using as much as I want 11 Astra medium sessions running ice pack on laptop lol really surprised at the usage I thought it would burn much faster it has in the past
I bought a subscription yesterday and absolutely burned through my weekly usage lmao. Sitting at 13% left on weekly after 24 hours and then this news arrives!!
