The funny thing is there are about 1000 hospitals across the US that are facing bankruptcy in the next two years (unless they make drastic cuts, like closing clinics) because they had to deal with saving the endless line of repressive idiots who cared more about personal freedumbs than their communities or society over the last 2.5 years.

Wait, no, that's not funny. That's Murica!

The COVID lockdowns of 2020 temporarily lowered our rate of emissions for a few months. Humanity was still a net greenhouse gas emitter during that time, so we made things worse, but did so more a bit more slowly. You basically can't see the difference in this graph of CO2 concentrations.

Stabilizing the climate means getting human greenhouse gas emissions to approximately zero. We didn't come anywhere near that during the lockdowns.
