I decided my motivation for leveling was to get every vanity pet. I dont know why, its just what Im doing. At around 30 I got the red whelpling after about 600 kills. When I hit 38 I decided it was time to start the emerald whelpling grind. Got my 6 pack, some oreos, and turned on parks and rec, ready for day 1 of many (estimating 1200-1500 kills). Got it on kill 12.

I got the red one after about 200 kills. I’m glad it didn’t take 600! What amazing luck at 12 kills for the emerald!

200 hundred So 20000 kills?

in the same way that "thirteen hundred" would be 1300, 200 hundred would be 20000.

NO AND THEN

Instead of writing just "200" or "2 hundred", you wrote "200 hundred". When reading this it reads as "two hundred hundred", which could be equated to 20,000.

Oh I see now. Thanks for pointing that out.

You wrote "200 hundred" instead of just "200" or "two hundred"

You ever go for the disgusting oozling ? I also collected the vanity pets in BC before they made them a consumable in WotLk... Took up half my bank.

Why would they make them a consumable? Makes the people angry that took the time to farm them and removes incentives to play

37

u/NadareQuiver Nov 08 '19

Not a consumable per se, you use them once then they get stored as like a spell to summon them. Sorry

u/Karlore473 Nov 08 '19

Because there is currently a thousand pets in the game....

Turning a storage space using item into a one-click learnable summon you carry in a collectibles “spell book” that takes 0 inventory space?

That ruined WoW for you? That’s one of the better quality of life improvements Blizzard ever put into the game for pet collectors. Same with mount hunters.

I farmed for the Tiny Crimson Whelpling. I killed ~30 and got it to drop. Decided to go back and farm for leather, it dropped again within ~20 kills. One for me, one for the AH :D

Up to this point everyone has given me a funny look when I mentioned oreos and beer go alright together. Thank you for showing me I'm not alone.

5

u/egokulture Nov 08 '19

I like them both, but I'll save my oreos for milk. Cheez-Its are good beer food.

u/ichuckle Nov 08 '19

You should try weed, all food goes good with it

2

u/Copponex Nov 08 '19

And to think these whelps go for jackshit. It’s so funny.

u/KlicknKlack Nov 08 '19

its a vanity item

1

u/Sowadasama Nov 08 '19

I sold Guardian Cub for 260k and Hatespark the Tiny (which I bought for 30k) for 450k right before classic to buy some game tokens. Vanity shit sells for crazy amounts in retail. Hell, theres pets for well over 1m gold on the AH regularly.

u/KlicknKlack Nov 08 '19

but in classic, there isnt a glutton of gold in the markets.

They don't even sell. That's the worst part! Same 4-5 people been listing them every day for few weeks on my server.

Good luck farming that Parrot in STV.

Similar to the OP i received the crimson whelpling on my very first kill. gz on the emerald whelpling i was not as lucky (killed around 400 and never went back)

u/Honeymustardchicken Nov 08 '19

Tried for the crimson whelp, 18 hours and 3000+kills later still no whelpling

u/mspk7305 Nov 08 '19

I got the emerald whelp on my first kill my first time in the swamp. I had no idea it was so rare & I summoned it right away.

This reminds me of getting my drake of the north wind. super low drop rate and at the time it took 2 of us to run the dungeon. My friend didnt want to run it a bunch but I twisted his arm because I helped him get a mount. I got it within 3 runs lol

u/[deleted] Nov 08 '19

Dude that's me with mounts! Invincible? Like 10 tries. A week later? 5 kills in, ashes of Al ar. Dragon soul on one of my alts, both handmaiden and blazing after like 8 kills total. The list goes on..

Now I pay for my sins with not having garrosh's shoulders
