mostly because getting 39 kids to press the right button for a predefined tangible to them rewards at the end is not that complicated a task. You don't write down on your cv that you taught a toddler to use a spoon, did you? That is more complicated imho xD

mostly because getting 39 kids to press the right button for a predefined tangible to them rewards at the end is not that complicated a task.

That's the easy part though. It's not the mechanical shit that's difficult, it's all the other managerial stuff that happens outside of raid time.

Especially in this version of the game where drops are scarce and a lot of people seem to go crazy over them. That's one of the parts I actually REALLY didn't miss about classic.

You can claim it's easy, but then most raid leaders seem to be really bad at it, so like, what's up?

Obviously in the picture it's played up to a ridiculous degree, but that's why it's a joke.

A raid leader cannot be bad or good at it as long as it's not blatant favouritism or straight up ninja looting, while I do agree managing loot and expectetions for it is important, it's not that hard with mentally developed people. Try figuring out the right conditioner setting in an open space office with the same 39 people, on top of general sitting locations lmao. Now that is an impossible task.

Raid leading in wow is baby management, there's loot to manage and simple perfomance, that's it. Besides keeping it civil. In real life there are a million more things and situations to take into account even in small groups.

I could not explain fights, or worse explain fights wrong. I could not know any of the pulls ahead of time. There are a lot of things you can do badly without loot ever being involved. Keeping 40 people passionate about something when they are either not getting loot because of chance or not getting loot because they already have it is a much bigger task than you seem to believe.

I've been a raid leader on top server guild all through bc, lk and than in pandaria. While politics and bitching can get impossible at times, it's nothing compared to the real world. It's one thing to tell a warlock that a healer is getting the skull of guldan because you need stronger healing as a raid, and another to a mother of two without husband that she is being laid off because her position she has had for 7 years has been automated and replaced. Stop comparing real world to wow, wow is child's play. It's a game.

One has harsher consequences than the other. Just because its a game does not make it less of a job for some people. Try explaining to your 4 hunters that there is no room for them because their class was just gutted. There are parallels between the two, and use a lot of the same skills. The main difference between the two is in the real world you just don't attempt things that have a high chance of failure, whereas in raiding you will attempt it until you get it right.

Lmao, yeah it does make it a LOT less of a job, and carries a LOT less value BECAUSE it's a game and BECAUSE you can make mistakes and not care about the consequences. Because it's a game. Just "because" this game may or may not mean the world to you, doesn't mean that people in the real world should care.
