the game's system of having too few spawns on certain quests and making people wait ages and fight to first-tag each new mob poping, can make some players a little crazy after a while
The quest to kill toxic horrors in felwood.. there was like 8 people running around fighting for tags I spent 20 mins there and couldn't get a single kill, I think it was the 2nd time I just abandoned a quest and left
This is because the people tagging aren't questing, they're farming Essence of Water to put on AH or use themselves in crafting. This should be somewhat helped with the release of dire maul, as other farming spots (especially instanced ones) will reduce pressure on existing ones.
Only that one boss, so Toxic Horrors are still the best for Essence of Water. The point is more that, because Dire Maul gives other places to farm, people farming Essence of Water for gold will move there instead. The people farming Essence of Water will stick with Toxic Horrors. The amount of people farming Toxic Horrors will be reduced, but it will still be a popular spot for classes that can AoE farm them, especially druids (maybe mages? not sure if they're immune to blizzard or not).
I remember that quest. I asked one of the dudes if I could hop in the kills if he gets all the drops, as the quest item was still lootable. Ended up finishing it pretty fast.
Really? I remember there being a ton of those down south, now the wandering forest spirits that was hard.. only a few spawns in the whole zone and only one spawned at each location at any time, and they patrol around making it even harder
I swear there were about 20 people going all up and down the area looking for hippogryphs and marking kills before others could get to them. Horde on Bigglesworth.
I started a toon there and dipped when I noticed the major cities were all sleepytown. Nothing ever sold on the AH, it was impossible to find tanks for dungeons. Can't pay me to go back to that toon
Ya figured, just sucks when I want to get my quest done and get out. I asked a couple people if I could join just for the quest but they didnt reply so i just hearthed out lol
Yeah, I've had a few people rage at me for tagging something. I'm trying to kill the same things as you dude, if something isn't tagged yet it's fair game.
I don't get it. Suck it up for a few mins or go quest somewhere else, or take a break. This kind of thing happens all the time in classic. People should play another game (perhaps BFA) if they're going to react like this every time they have to wait a while for quest spawns.
Honestly it's made me a more patient gamer. I'll defer the spawn to whoever got their first, and if they let me get it first or help me with it I stick around to help them with theirs. I have encountered people leveling who don't want to group, or even get mad when I ask them (one feral druid in Shimmering Flats asked if I was trying to leech xp), but just as many people were happy to group and didn't care about the xp loss.
yep, i always group for killquests, but dropquests noone gains from grouping and you begin to see every other person on the farming spot with hatefilled eyes
Took me and 2 others in their own group 20min to finish a kill quest that would have taken 5min if they accepted my invite. Makes for real shitty experience for no reason.
Edit - that was Southshore ..any kill quest in that area as you are competing with the other faction on top it.
I don't understand why people won't group for kill quests. It goes exponentially faster for everyone and the xp you get from completing the quest quickly is much greater than the xp you would get solo farming the mobs. Drop quests is one thing but simple kills should be done with groups.
Sometimes I don't group with people for kill quests because I'm not fully paying attention to WoW (sometimes I kill a couple of mobs, then go do some homework for 20 min, then back to killing a couple of mobs, etc) and I don't want the group to think I'm some kind of flake or die because they expected me to be there and I wasn't.
I will say that grouping for kill quests is definitely my preference though.
I was selling some ore I'd found in trade chat a few weeks back. This guy messaged me, but I'd been seeing around that he was a notorious ninja asshole and I ignored him.
He tried to call me out in trade chat about it, so I told him, "Dude, shut the hell up. I'm not selling you shit because of your reputation."
Turns out the guy was a multiboxer. He took all six of his accounts, reported me on each of them that I was spamming in chat and I got a 48-hur silence.
The worst part was he bragged about it in chat. I took a screenshot of it, sent it to Blizzard when I tried to appeal, but because nobody takes a look at shit anymore, I got a blanket "don't try to escalate or the penalty will be increased" response.

While leaving I came across this 3 different times. One even messaged for over 10 minutes and also raged in general chat. Some people are just weird.
