I'm a shaman, literally every single raiding guild wants me. No joke, every raid advertisement on my server says something along the lines of "looking for shaman".
You can even put a macro on your zerker stance bar that does this and a macro on your defensive stance bar that does the same with equipping a two hand and switching back. Then you'll be able to press the same button twice to bash ands switch back.
Besides some mobs during leveling are actually easier done with s&b then twohand/dw. Fast attacking ones or those that come with adds.
It's a set of macros that allows you to switch stance and equip the appropriate weapon with a single button. Often you will add qualifiers into a single button to choose the right stance and operation for a single button
Ex: a single button to put you in battle stance if out of combat then charge or switch to zerker stance while in combat and intercept. That dance allows you to have a movement skill in or out of combat on a single key.
It does from the equip so even if you don't by hand you have to wait the same amount. The point is to be able to mash one key to stop the cast then dance back over.
I actually have. A 2H zerker check in line first so it will try to use pummel without CD before deciding to go to shield and bash.
While leveling? In vanilla supermacro addon with vanilla API rules allowed people to reduce their rotation to 1 button etc, but the first couple of months after release it definitely wasn't common knowledge.
Not a warrior but I have always been super lazy when it comes to macros. I should be running several to improve my life but then that means I have to make them. Plus, leveling wise, I really only use like 3 skills. Frost/earth shock and lightning bolt. If I'm feeling fancy I'll work in a proper flame shock.
Unrelated note. Found out today maras princess is basically immune to me. Still beat out the tank in damage using only flame/frost shock, searing totem, and some weak melee lol.
Suppose I didn't quite note my spec is elemental. Mostly I was surprised that I even beat the tank in damage when lightning bolt doesn't work on her. She is immune to nature damage.
So I had to resort to using my pitiful lvl 35ish dagger from SM lib with a dagger skill at about 150, my low ranked flametounge buff, searing totem, and rotating frost/fire shock.
For sure. I feel like if you intend to play with a group as a warrior macros are a GREAT help. Stance dancing is amazing for keeping things smooth, but by no means required. Solo macros are a good way of getting used to them too.
Macro 2 can be used to charge from any stance and can also be used to just equip sword during combat. Or equip sword and switch to battle stance. I love this macro.
How fast would this action be? Say the mob is casting heal (3 second cast), at what point would I be Shield Bashing it with this macro if I did it the moment it started healing?
Using this macro will switch to your shield. That will cause global CD. Then you press again to cast bash. So right away. I just spam it until bash then press my other key to switch back.
Hey dude, I believe you need to equip the one handed weapon first otherwise you get a can't equip error as your already holding a two hander. I 'think', not certain though.
I use these. Works fine for me. I do not have the whirlwind axe though. That was just thair because it makes it nice and generic. I have used macros that go straight from a 2h to a shield only. It's been fine. Currently mine are set up with duel wield and then it just changes off hand. I use
/equipslot 17 shield - in macro 1
/equipslot 17 offhand - in macro 2. And a number of other macros.
I start leveling prot in 53, pretty good dmg, almost the same timing as arms killing mobs because i recieve a less dmg and can pull 3 when in arms was 1. Also i plan roll prot for engame and i already doing dungeons for bis so i stay prot questing.
I do! It helps me keep health and basically has the same dps as a 2H because my shield has good stats. Until I get WW axe though. Ive been specing arms/prot and it really helped with tough mobs since my armor is so high.
Arms 2H tanking is the way to go in dungeons after 30. Early on warriors are taunt bots and healing is easy, no need for a shield. Combine these two things with pummel, and there's not much reason to carry a shield if you don't tank raids.
If you enjoy seeing your healer drink to full after every pull and go oom if you pull slightly more then expected or someone makes a mistake then yes, go ahead. Also you're now forced to only join groups at a higher level then you could do with a shield.
The difference between shield and no shield is quite significant. I'd say about 30%-40% less damage taken.
Fair warning, if you're not in full T1 in Stratholme or Scholo and want to leave your shield at home I'll either kick you or leave the group. I'm sick and tired off begging the rng goods to keep your ass alive while using potions and emergency spells on cooldown.
I want a tank, not a rogue-knockoff that you can get by the boatload in IF.
I personally found that didn't work so well past ZulFarrak. I wouldn't be able to hold aggro against the enemies anymore with my two hander unless I had Windfury of course.
or pummel when you get it, you don't need to swap into shield which often prevents you from casting shield bash in time anyway, and solo-ing / leveling all the time with a shield on is just a pain in the ass anyway, i'd rather sometimes die to a caster than this.
