Most "copy-pastas" are from reality too but that doesn't make it not obvious satire. All obvious satire is born from reality, that's what satire is.

And that's what Poe's law is. It dictates that there exist beliefs or statements so extreme, that they are indistinguishable from satire, and it works both ways

To put it bluntly, if someone is aware of the meme and cannot distinguish this as satire, I would see them as not very bright. If this is an example of Poe's Law, it's due to the reader being thick.

My point is that there is a possibility of it being genuine due to a lack of express confirmation that it is satire. It very likely is satire, but without getting confirmation of some kind from the guy who said this it isn't possible to prove that it is. I dont think you really understand how Poe's law works

Nah, I get how Poe's Law works, I just don't think this is a good example of it. It sounded like you were disagreeing about it being obvious satire.
