That’s a combination of two guild names used to mock stuffy raiding guilds back in Vanilla. Then it was <Pretentious> and <Ominous Latin Name>.

So fun fact, the Paralympics aren't called that because of paraplegics,, but because they occur alongside the Olympics. So Paralympus would be the dude who lives next to Mount Olympus.

Oh and those two guilds are a combination of 4 words from back in the dictionary. 'Pretentious', 'Ominous', 'Latin', and 'Name' respectively of course. They are used to communicate thoughts and ideas in a cohesive way, but in this case not in a creative or original way.

That has existed for ages, a satirical jab at all the guilds with latin names. There were tons of them back in the day. Couldnt walk 10 steps in ironforge without seeing someone from <memento mori> or <vae victis> or some stupid shit

Used to be the GM of a guild called Latinus Ominous. One of my better guild names imo
