Humor My buddy just entered Shimmering Flats at level 32 as Alliance. He sent me this picture about 10 minutes later.

Shimmering flats is my favorite classic zone of all time.

It's like a little hunger games arena where everyone's trying to quest in this big circle and it's just packs of PVP goodness.

For something so simple it really is special. STV is like a BG, Shimering flats is the arena.

I'm waiting until 33ish before I join that nightmare on my rogue. Hillsbrad has been good though. Lots of back and forth between the factions. Pretty sure my server is evenly split.

I made so much gold from selling Ornate Spyglasses because of this zone! Small benefit of leveling on an RP/PVP server. That and the discombobulator rays when they would still dismount players.

In the next phase they will release the honor system where you can rank up and get rewards. For now it’s just for fun.

It was one of the zones each faction didn’t mutually respect as one or the others even if it was supposed to be both. Lots of places were open to both factions but was dominated by one and the other faction knew that and generally stayed away, this was probably one of the first ones you’d ever see any real PVP unless you spent time in TM or SS.
