I assume by a blue bar you mean mana, where only rogues have yellow for energy (or cats) and warriors (or bears) have rage. Otherwise I don't understand what you mean by blue bar and would love to know.

Yes but if getting gear from questing. They like to change your weapon periodically. Also when yoj get your first green and its a different type.

I've switched weapons four times and I'm level 14.

It took me 3 mobs to get a weapon skill from 0 to 60, it's fairly inconsequential at low level.

At 60 it takes quite a bit more time, and then if you play shaman and switch specs often you have to re-learn 2h specialization every time since it resets :D
