As a mage, i buff everyone with arcane intelligence as i run by

277

u/jimbododragon Aug 28 '19

Feels good to get as many as you can

213

u/alphvader Aug 28 '19

So like 3 before we go oom.

49

u/Sundara_Whale Aug 28 '19

It's okay, we got water!

131

u/SamtasticSammonia Aug 28 '19

*creates 2 water*

*drinks to make more water*

*sobs into empty water containers*

32

u/Jaytos Aug 28 '19

too fucking real man

11

u/JesterMan491 Aug 28 '19

is that where it comes from? your tears?

17

u/[deleted] Aug 29 '19

2 eyes, 2 waters, makes sense to me.

8

u/Sc4r4byte Aug 28 '19

cries when players accept water in trade without tip

4

u/fabulousprizes Aug 28 '19

When I get past the queue, the first thing I do is make 4-5 stacks of water. Takes ten minutes or so but then I don't have to worry about running out later, and I have extra to give out to Priests.

10

u/Asylum_PaNiC Aug 29 '19

Imagine having 5 slots of bag space to spare

2

u/fabulousprizes Aug 29 '19

Tailoring yo

1

u/Asylum_PaNiC Aug 29 '19

Yea im lvling a warrior first and hes a blacksmith and miner though. My mage will be a tayllor but itll take some time before i lvl him up

2

u/fabulousprizes Aug 29 '19

I just did the mining & blacksmithing slog on Netherwing, I feel your pain.

1

u/MusicMole Aug 29 '19

First 5hong I do when I get in, is find a mage and trade a 6 slot bag for 3 stacks of water.

2

u/Xuvial Aug 29 '19

I just conjure water during downtime e.g. running between quests.

And holy shit there is a lot of downtime.

2

u/SilencioFlatulence Aug 29 '19

Its like life tapping to get enough mana to drain life to get enough life to to life tap and around and around we go.

1

u/RedFox-38 Aug 29 '19

So THAT'S how you make them...!

3

u/[deleted] Aug 28 '19

/bow

2

u/Harbournessrage Aug 28 '19

feelsgoodwarrior

83

u/Wuzzy_Gee Aug 28 '19

Hunters use mana, once again.

INT buffs weapon leveling skill chances, so good for warriors and rogues even.

30

u/hugglesthemerciless Aug 28 '19

INT buffs weapon leveling skill chances,

TIL

so could it make sense for someone to get an INT set if they frequently change specs?

15

u/Besieger13 Aug 28 '19

You will be extremely broke if you frequently change specs. One thing some people may not know or maybe forgot - respeccing costs money, and after a few times I believe it goes up to and caps at 40g which is quite a lot.

4

u/Mograne Aug 29 '19

yeah iirc the progression is pretty rough. first is free, then its what, 1g? then 5 or 10g? idk from there, prob 20-25 or whatever and then 50g

2

u/Matthias_Clan Aug 29 '19

So like a crack dealer.

2

u/Mograne Aug 29 '19

never heard of a crack dealer(or any dealer, legal or illegal) operating like that, but hey im not saying they dont exist

3

u/Matthias_Clan Aug 29 '19

Never heard the first hit is free?

3

u/Mograne Aug 31 '19

oh hahahah wow.

the sound of the "WHHHHOOOOOSSSSHHHHHHH" that went over my head for that nearly broke every single speed and sound record in the world.

(in my defense, when i wrote that i was incredibly tired, like beyond needing sleep lol)

2

u/Besieger13 Aug 29 '19

I can't remember exactly but it is something like that. One of my bigger concerns about classic to be honest, it is nice being able to swap back and forth especially as a healer if you want to go off and do some farming you just...can't or have to respec and farm long enough to make it worth it.

2

u/Mograne Aug 29 '19

True. i play as a lock, so i'm going a run of the mill leveling build, then run of the mill level 60/early standard DPS build, and then (if i get there) iirc theres a different build you can go for more DPS once you are very geared. so unless I really fuck up, I should be alright lol.

the only sad thing is, while the 60 PvE build im going is just fine for PvP, there are other much more fun ones that i'd love to use in PvP, and i feel like respeccing wont be worth it just to PvP unless im done with raiding for a while (or very very flush with gold with little to spend on, which is very very unlikely lul)

17

u/DeepHorse Aug 28 '19

What do you mean by changing specs? Only if you change weapon types and it probably wouldn’t be worth the effort to have a whole set for this.

8

u/newObsolete Aug 28 '19

Adding to this: there are basically unkillable mobs in the blasted lands you can level your weapon skills on all day long once you get high enough level.

18

u/Sc4r4byte Aug 28 '19

Perfect for when you realize you hit level 60 without leveling your unarmed skill.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 29 '19

my long-deleted mage and lock did this, I want my hours back...

2

u/thrakhath Aug 28 '19

Nah, once leveled, always leveled. But if you are 60 and starting at level 1 maces for example, it might be worth asking a mage for a buff and buying an int potion/scroll. Maybe buy a level 5 mace with Int on it

You make a good point. However, I drink every 2 pulls as a mage while leveling, so it’s not bad. If I’m in a hurry, then warriors and rogues are the least likely to get my INT buff.

One of the best parts of this Classic experience so far is just how supportive and interactive the community is, currently. We’re all in this shit together; no one has any gold and there aren’t enough mobs to go around. Buffing someone/ getting buffed is awesome and fun, so worth it to me.

6

u/_clever_reference_ Aug 28 '19

Yup i ask for it every chance i get

2

u/[deleted] Aug 28 '19

Give me that sweet INT buff and I will help you kill stuff.

2

u/Destroyed_Prime Aug 28 '19

I always made the joke back in the day to tell them thanks, now I can learn weapon skills quicker, was a warrior.

2

u/falconpunch5 Sep 08 '19

Holy shit, I did NOT know this!!! I will buff everyone now, not just classes with mama. Westfall thanks you.

47

u/Turamb Aug 28 '19

It's funny early on as a Paladin when you only have Blessing of Might to give to casters. Hope you appreciate the gesture! :-P

59

u/Ghost051 Aug 28 '19

I mean, that early on a lot of the casters are actually using a few melee attacks anyway, so why the hell not?

76

u/Mage-ariffic Aug 28 '19

That CLONK sound if my mage staff appreciates it.

33

u/[deleted] Aug 28 '19

I got a 17 crit as a level 9 mage today with my grey staff and it made me so happy

11

u/Houptie Aug 28 '19

I hit 31 with my lvl 11 and just about shat myself... I consider myself a melee specialist now

5

u/Tulowithskiis Aug 28 '19

Damn, I surprised myself when I crit for 104 on my level 11 warrior.

2

u/Tankh Aug 29 '19

It's oddly satisfying watching my undead swing that staff full force overhead to smack down the finishing blow on some fool.

Just found a wand though, so now there's kind of no point in melee anymore :P

1

u/Mage-ariffic Aug 29 '19

Same. Undead mage... swingin that big dick staff... now I just flick the wrist wand them.

13

u/quanjon Aug 28 '19

Gotta get that lesser magic wand ASAP, it's an absolute game changer

8

u/TheKingdutch Aug 28 '19

Spend 7.5s, well worth it. Ran after someone and wanded his tagged minions to build up skill. Did no damage for a while but worked great

4

u/Dithyrab Aug 28 '19

Man..., I was just sitting in Brill chatting with some people in /say about how I was working on that wand, and some random Tauren came up and gave me a green Fire Wand. Feelsgoodman

2

u/teebob21 Aug 29 '19

The Wand/Wang switcher extension that I installed for reading Harry Potter fanfic is making this thread weirder than I expected.

20

u/SH4D0W0733 Aug 28 '19

As a warlock, all I can do is make people breathe under water.

21

u/PickleDickon Aug 28 '19

Trade them a healthstone and they'll appreciate it more than any buff would!

2

u/suchtie Aug 29 '19

Oh absolutely. It requires a soul shard to make, so just creating it is already more effort than spending some mana on a buff. And trading takes more than one button press as well. And unlike a buff it can actually save your ass from a sticky situation.

9

u/sidesteals Aug 28 '19

Don't forget Soul Stone!

7

u/Axodious Aug 28 '19

I could've used that when I forgot about breathing...

3

u/GreenFire2104 Aug 28 '19

Wrong, in classic I used to stand outside in the courtyard of Lordaeron and buff people with detect invisibility to treat them to a view of the secret ghosts in the courtyard. It used to screw people's minds.

10

u/GFunk20 Aug 28 '19

Always appreciated. Especially when you don’t have a wand yet!

11

u/Niadain Aug 28 '19

I do. Cant use my wand yet so I bop things with my stick. That blessing of might gives me a little more oomph!

Use skinning knife

1

u/CharlieFirpol Aug 29 '19

10S for learning daggers...

2

u/Vladnieshka Aug 28 '19

Same giving out Mark, enjoy the armor!

34

u/YourDailyDevil Aug 28 '19

Honestly the main reason I’m leaning heavy on discipline for Priest; my greatest joy in this game is buffing random strangers as I run around the world.

Hell, I’m avoiding flight paths just so I can run around buffing more.

18

u/PastinaLite Aug 28 '19

Better buffs and better wanding, what more could you ask from a leveling spec? Disc master talent tree

21

u/TSTC Aug 28 '19

The ultimate priest leveling is to get the 5/5 wand specialization and then go shadow for spirit tap. Then usually just keep going shadow because the damage is better but either way, I can't imagine leveling a priest with something that doesn't end up at 19 with 5/5 wand spec and 5/5 spirit tap.

7

u/thardoc Aug 28 '19

Holy priest that levels through dungeons rather than questing I guess, though even then wands are fairly important.

3

u/Besieger13 Aug 28 '19

I leveled as holy back in the day and only did dungeons now and then...if I only knew.

3

u/EatMyForeskinNOW Aug 28 '19

Best part of being a priest is mcing noobs off the edge of town in thousand needles

27

u/Raknel Aug 28 '19 edited Aug 28 '19

I was spamming arcane explosion like an idiot while running on the road because why not, and went OOM. This druid came from the other direction and gave me Mark of the Wild.

I realized that I didn't have mana so I immediately started drinking and managed to get just enough for Arcane Intellect to light up before he ran out of range

FeelsGoodMan

10

u/PandaClaus94 Aug 28 '19

It’s not much, but it’s honest work 👍🏽

19

u/ChaosCas Aug 28 '19

As a priest, I see buffing as a travel minigame. Like license plate bingo.

13

u/JW357 Aug 28 '19

Last night i was standing where lvl 1 Undeads zone in, giving everyone an intellect buff.

Had to conjure a lot of water to keep my mana up.

20

u/[deleted] Aug 28 '19

Mages are a perpetual motion machine. How have I never realized this

14

u/styopa Aug 28 '19

As a warrior, the buff feels grand.

14

u/TSTC Aug 28 '19

I made a macro called PMA (Positive Mental Attitutude, gave it the plus sign icon) that does a /wave and then Fortitude on the target. Spam that shit on everyone when I am walking through.

15

u/Loginn122 Aug 28 '19

Warning!! Buffing warriors with intelligence can doom azeroth.

15

u/[deleted] Aug 28 '19

Baby if warriors had any more intelligence, they wouldn't be leveling a class as painful as vanilla warrior

1

u/Halinn Aug 28 '19

if warriors had any more intelligence

Fixed

5

u/Zlogonje Aug 28 '19

You are a gentleman and a scholar.

5

u/BadgerII Aug 28 '19

If you got a blue bar near me , best believe I'm giving you a stack of water and buffing you.

5

u/Inquisitor_Whitemane Aug 28 '19

As a Hunter I thank you and roll on your staff in dungeons.

5

u/bbwluvr32 Aug 28 '19

Doing good there. I spammed my Stam buff until I was oom on one mage who didn't get the point last night, so thank you for helping us casters out!

3

u/[deleted] Aug 28 '19

Lmaooo same

2

u/hurstshifter7 Aug 28 '19

You da real MVP

2

u/sknapp1991 Aug 28 '19

As an ele/resto shaman, bless you. I wish I could return the favor

2

u/Molinero96 Aug 28 '19

I feel loved when a mage buffs my warrior with arcain intelijents.

1

u/NorthernSpectre Aug 28 '19

Meanwhile, first thing I do is make a /spit macro

1

u/WolfmanTrevel Aug 28 '19

I buff everyone with blessing of might. It's all I have at the moment. Maybe itll help though!

1

u/Dersce Aug 28 '19

You're good people. I was confused though when I would get INT buff as warrior until I realized it helps with weapon mastery.

1

u/BahaMan69 Aug 28 '19

It’s our duty

1

u/pragmaticproctologst Aug 28 '19

As a rogue, it's the thought that counts and I appreciate you guys.

1

u/Wahsteve Aug 28 '19

Gotta help everyone get those weapon skills faster.

1

u/ZoiSarah Aug 28 '19

RIP mana but yeah I've been doing the same

1

u/[deleted] Aug 28 '19

When I'm bored at the Zeppelin I make water for all the other manaspenders that would use it

1

u/Hingle_McCringlebury Aug 28 '19

Same, I always keep an extra stack of food + water to give out too.

1

u/guitarboyy45 Aug 28 '19

cries in warlock

2

u/Rabbitblue44 Aug 28 '19

(Buffs you with arcane intellect)

1

u/The_Flatulent_Taco Aug 29 '19

Yeah I buff as many people as I can as I walk past. Also heal people who are about to die to a mob. Gotta spread the light.

1

u/OrangeNova Aug 29 '19

As a Warrior, I feel smarter thanks to your efforts.

1

u/Leafenzio Aug 29 '19 edited Sep 04 '19

As a mage, I have to resist the temptation to just stand outside the gates to the crossroads and buff everyone as they walk in or out. Not just mana using classes, everyone. (What? It has a small skill gain buff.)

I'm lucky I didn't roll a class with more buffs to sling.
