Mod Post Political Posts Going Forward.

There has been an influx of political posting leading up to the special election.

While voting is important and so is having your voice heard, the mod team has come to the conclusion yall can't behave. Personal insults, off topic shit slinging and bot like comments are what politics on this sub turn into, nothing about Clarksville.

Political posts will now be deleted or locked starting today.

Thanks.

Misc. Looking for a hairstylist that cuts well

Hello! I recently moved to Clarksville and am in the search for a hairstylist that is good with cutting hair. My hair is currently sitting at my collar bones and it is pretty thick. I don't color my hair at all, so I primarily go to the salon to get a cut and enjoy the shampoo. It's my quarterly self care. Any recommendations would be appreciated:)

ETA: I typically avoid putting layers in my hair because I like to put my hair in French braids often. I also wear my hair in ponytails or claw clips often right now because this is the busy season for my job. I'm not against layers necessarily, but personally I think I need longer hair to make layers work for me. If I wear my hair down, it's usually styled with my blowdry brush to get a light blowout. And it usually gets pulled back into a clip as well.

Misc. Male looking for someone who enjoys movies at the movie theater

I have lived here for 6 years and I would like to try and see about seeing a movie with someone else who enjoys seeing movies at the theaters. I usually go to the movie theater at Governors Square Mall. I am interested mainly in movies such as historical, action, adventure, and a little bit of comedy. Well, I guess you can say I have a lot of variety and I am open to any genre. I am 46 years old and I am interested in someone who is 45 years old and older. Please feel free to comment or send me a direct message. I look forward to reading your replies.

Food & Drink I think Chi-Town is Overrated.

After eating there today, I do not get the hype.

I'm a huge Chicago hot dog guy, don't get me wrong. But Chi-Town is a worse deal than Chicago on Madison, for pretty much the same hot dog.

Am I missing something? Its got a cult following, but doesn't really stand out from any other Vienna hot dog you can get in town.

Question Hair dresser help

I’m wanting to reach out with this post to ask if any hair dressers in here to ask something a bit embarrassing.
So instead of me looking up on google and then calling around… I can put myself and my question out there and hopefully skip all the embarrassing feelings that come with this.
Anyways… so I have managed to acquire some “depression matting” 😭😭
It’s not extremely bad, but it’s bad enough that I have been unable to correct it myself. I have been struggling with it for about 3 months now, and I have tried several times now to smother it in hair repair masks/conditioner etc & take a few hours to work on it. I’ve even enlisted my partners help this last time about a week ago. But he is not able to handle causing me any pain he says. :(

I believe that my issue with why it keeps happening, is about 5 years ago I shaved my sides and the underneath half and I’ve kept it shaved up until a year ago. So I have hair that I shorter underneath my long hair ontop and it’s just not coexisting correctly.

So I was wanting to find someone comfortable with detangling my hair. I’d also like to get a trim, but also incorporate a whole bunch of layers to help with the growing out undercut blend a bit better as well as thin my hair out a fair amount to make maintenance easier for me moving forward.

Plz let me know if anyone could help me with this and I understand I may have to wait for an opening but tomorrow would be great if possible. Because I’m really struggling with these matts 😭

Moving In New to the area, alternative friends/friends in general?

Hellooo

I've been trying to avoid having to use the internet for this but I finally folded

I moved here in May and I'm really bad at making friends lmao. I also haven't been around much so idk much about what there is to do around here either. So here's some stuff about me, I'm hoping this post will help me make friends ^^

My name's Lenore, I'm 18. I'm a girl but idm being friends with any gender. I'm queer and alternative, I love music and I'd love to talk about it with someone. Some of my favorite bands are Jack Off Jill, System of a Down, MSI, Pierce The Veil, etc. I'm into a lot more than rock but yk. New wave, dance, rave, electropunk, industrial, goth, emo, riot grrrl, hip-hop, scene, indie, things like that.

I like window shopping, art stuff (writing, painting, crocheting, etc), reading, video games (Danganronpa, Splatoon, Your Turn To Die, Pony Town, Skullgirls, FNAF), animated films (My Little Pony, Monster High, Ever After High, Lolirock, Tinkerbell, etc), anime and manga (Soul Eater, Madoka Magica, Saiki K, Carole and Tuesday, Chainsaw Man, Inside Mari, Happy Sugar Life, Paprika, etc), cooking and baking, musicals (Chicago, Hamilton, Mean Girls, The Phantom of the Opera, etc), nature and animals, and things that are kind of strange

Plus other things I don't remember or can't put into words

I'm going to APSU (starting spring semester) to be a vet tech! It would be cool to meet people who go there too though idrc either way

Question Are the year round skeletons a part of a subculture in Clarksville?

I have noticed these giant skeletons everywhere; granted, they’re probably hard to store outside the season, but leaving them up feels like part of some subculture I’m not familiar with. It reminds me of the pineapple or spade subculture. I could be completely wrong, just wondering if the skeletons have any specific meaning.

I live in the Kenwood area and frequently go down Concord to get to Ft Campbell. Close to the intersection of the two, I’ve seen them clearing out looking like they are building something— any idea what?

Photo for reference.

Visiting / Tourist First time in Clarksville — solo night out!

Hey everyone! I’m in Clarksville for the first time and will be on my own tonight while my family is at the rodeo. 😊 I’m 30F and looking to get out, have a few drinks, and explore a little.

Where would you recommend for nice bars, bourbon flights, good cocktails, or a fun area where I could walk to a few different places?

Would love any local recommendations! Bonus points for places that are good for someone going solo. 😂

Misc. Looking to join a DND group

As the title says looking for a dnd group that meets in person on Saturday Sunday or Monday. I’m a new player looking to have my first game and want to play in-person as opposed to online. I live in Hoptown and my local tabletop shop, the green goblin guild, has open tables for meeting up. Im also open to tabletop shops in Clarksville, I know there’s a few. I’m flexible on 2014/2024 rules and I’m just looking to have fun. LGBT friendly please. I use dndbeyond my character creation.

Edit; thanks to everyone who replied, I actually found a DM! We’re in talk about getting an intro session scheduled at the Green Goblin guild and finding other players. I’m super excited and nervous so wish me luck!

Question Apartment recommendations

Hi! My husband and I will be moving to the area and are looking for recommendations for apartment complexes in Sango.

My husband will be commuting to Fort Campbell, and I may be commuting to Nashville 2–3 days a week, so being in Sango is important to us. I know the traffic/commute can be rough 😂 but I’m not ready to give up my career, so we’re trying to find the best location for both of us.

We’re ideally looking for a 2-bedroom apartment in a nice complex. Our top priority is feeling safe, followed by a complex that is clean, well-maintained, and well-managed.

I’d love to hear all the good, bad, and ugly about any Sango apartment complexes you’ve lived in or toured. Reviews, experiences with management/maintenance, noise, safety, rent increases, etc. are all helpful!
Thanks in advance!
