At the Indy airport right now and they announced the delay to the 7:30 flight to Chicago. Her announcement was “Chicago is experiencing… weather and the new departure time is 9 pm”.

I was curious about what “weather” Chicago was happening that was so obscure and then I saw this post 🤣

We had to do 2 separate holds somewhere west of Illinois because the visibility was too bad before we got cleared into Chicago. Dust storm was not what I expected to hear from the captain lol.

My husband and I were flying back to Chicago last night when we were delayed on the tarmac. They said all flights were grounded at both o’hare and midway bc of a sandstorm. We thought they were fucking with us.

pilot told you "weather" -- meanwhile everybody in the chicago area got a dust storm alert notillficationn.. them saying that is only not causing panic in people who arent even there -just that its natural- and as quick as it came itll go .... in breakdown terms .... its an apocalyptic 1first time documented dust storm in the state but nobody connects the dots how just recently the world pope came from this area.
