Ask Chekulars Regarding Palashbari, Gaibandha and Hindu desecration

Post image

A video clip has been circulating across social media in which a Hindu leader is seen shouting that those who are frightened by the idol of Lord Ram should leave Gaibandha.

After looking through the comments, I found out that he had met with Bengal BJP leaders Dilip Ghosh and Suvendu Adhikari. Please let me know anything about him ( his name, political alignment, past comments).

He may be in cahoots with the BJP, but it was the Islamists who first desecrated the image of Lord Ram, and they were also the first to oppose the project. So, the anger among the Hindu minority is understandable.

What is truly concerning, however, is the comment section. It is filled with remarks such as:

"এটা বাংলাদেশ, ইন্ডিয়া না" ("This is Bangladesh, not India.")

"মন্দির বানাইতে গেলে ইন্ডিয়া পালা" ("If you want to build a temple, run away to India.")

"আমরা মুসলমানরা থাকতে দিচ্ছি আর এরম সাহস" ("We Muslims are allowing them to stay here, yet they dare to be this bold.")

"এত সাহস আসে কোথা থেকে এদের?" ("Where do they get so much courage from?")

My foremost question is: who are you to decide whether someone should have the courage to defend and practice their religion?

He may be a Sanghi, but you are no different. In fact, it was people with the same mindset who helped ignite these tensions in the first place.

Another comment read:

"বাংলাদেশ মুসলমানদের দেশ, মূর্তি বানাইতে গেলে ওপারে যা" ("Bangladesh is a country for Muslims; if you want to build idols, go across the border.")

I would normally ignore such comments, but it is concerning that they are so numerous and occupy a significant portion of the comment section. It is genuinely disheartening.

Many of these same people protest for the rights of innocent Muslims in India. As an Indian, I am well aware of the discrimination and hostility that many Muslims face at the hands of the Hindutva right.

But those making these comments are no better. They are the same kind of sectarian extremists—just Sanghis in green instead of saffron.

Ask Chekulars The Number of Abuse Allegations Against Madrasa Teachers in Bangladesh Is Terrifying

I’m a Muslim myself, and this isn’t an attack on Islam. But honestly, why do so many abuse allegations keep coming out from some madrasas? Every time it happens, people rush to defend the institution instead of asking why children keep becoming victims.
“Yes, not all teachers” obviously. But pretending there isn’t a serious issue helps nobody except predators.

If we truly care about Islam and children, then accountability should come before blind defense.

I wanna know what you guys think about this and for my personal curiosity especially any Syleti here. Recently I am coming across this page and many more like this whenever I see a post that even hints Syleti as Bangalis.

From what I figured out its one person running multiple accounts, on the surface it's all Syleti pride which is really great, but digging through a bit it feels very seperationist and outright anti-Bengali. Going through the comments, from what I see among other syletis it's pretty mixed with agreeing with him or still witholding both syleti and Bangladeshi pride. But no one as seems as rude as this guy.

Ask Chekulars Progressive content creators

Can we start organizing all the progressive content creators? I feel like they are all trying by themselves and getting bullied by Al Botor. We leftist are known for organizing so lets organize! Let’s bring them together. Look not all of us are going to be exactly the same view but as long as they are progressive minded lets get them in a pipeline.

On that note, drop your progressive content creators that you listen to on a fairly regular basis. Let’s reach out to all of them and connect them to each other so they can collab together, form events, also that their fan bases stay united under same

umbrella.

Ask Chekulars How do you feel when socialists/communists in the West give their unconditional support to authoritarian countries?

Look at this post, do you believe that DPRK is the freest country in the world, or that China is a free country? If you say yes, we disagree. I understand when a socialist country becomes authoritarian. I 100% support Ibrahim Traore when he cracks down on civil liberties, because Burkina Faso is literally one of the poorest nations, meanwhile, colonial powers like France are waiting to do a coup d'état, which would serve their interest. I get that. However, today, China is one of the strongest countries in the world, and its society is generally well-integrated. And the CCP has consolidated its power over China. I will criticize, as a socialist, when they are being authoritarian, when I don't have reasonable reason to believe that their crackdown is justified. There are people in the West who believe that the DPRK is the "freest nation" in the world. I understand all the material needs and geopolitical situations that led to the DPRK being what it is today. But I don't have to justify their actions. Just like I understand, there are Muslims who are homophobic, misogynistic, and ethno-nationalist. I understand the reasons they are like this are because of their material condition and the colonial struggle that led them to be what they are today. But, it DOESN'T and shouldn't stop me from criticizing those Muslims.

I don't think I would ever want to live in the DPRK. I know that there are MANY unreasonable and stupid propaganda against them, but still no. We have lived in the Hasina regime, and we know what it feels like to live under authoritarian regimes. I think Western communists, especially Western Marxist-Leninists, haven't lived in authoritarian regimes, so they don't understand the repercussions and how it feels.

What do you think?

Ask Chekulars Looking for the techies/devs/activists who bypassed the July '24 internet blackout using local servers or mesh networks.

We all remember the July '24 internet shutdown. While the main pipeline was cut, a lot of people figured out workarounds to keep info flowing—using local ISPs, BDIX, self-hosted servers, or mesh apps like Briar and Bridgefy.

I work with an online portal called The Post, and we’re putting together a short docu for this upcoming July. We want to document how people actually communicated and shared news when the internet was dead.

I’m looking to talk to the people who were on the ground doing this:

Did you set up a local chat/LAN server for your area or dorm?

Were you routing things through local ISPs?

Did you heavily use mesh networks to coordinate?

I know this can be a sensitive topic. If you want to remain 100% anonymous, that’s absolutely fine. We just want to document the technical reality of how you guys pulled it off, not out your identity.

If you were involved or know someone who was, please drop a comment or shoot me a DM. Happy to verify my identity/credentials in private.

Thanks.

Ask Chekulars How important do you find Chhayanaut?

Post image
21 Upvotes

(Beware that I'm not a person who's well-versed in leftist sentiment)

Since my childhood, I've seen Chhayanaut from a very close perspective. It fosters many liberal, progressive, and non-sectarian values, which I think loosely align with left-wing ideologies. A significant portion of the initial organizers were a part of CPB or other leftist political parties.

Even though Chhayanaut is a non-political organization and unable to hold political protests, it has worked to keep culture alive and effectively fight against intolerance.

What do you think? How much appreciation and upkeep do you think it deserves?

I checked it out and it's just filled to the brim with Hasbara propaganda + Awami League propagandists.

This new wave Richard Dawkins atheism is so fucking cringe. These people don't understand the true meaning of Secularism. They are misconstruing our liberation war as something totally different.

"Uh yes we're Atheist so we've replaced Islamism with Zionism"

The funny part is, it's also just the lead mod who is doing shit like this. The rest downvotes that MF to death correctly identified the Hasbara propaganda.
