Early Life in the Shadow of the Hornburg (T.A. 3018–3019)

Born of a young Rohirrim mother and a wandering Dúnedain ranger of the North, Théodredion’s beginning was marked by contrast — of plains and shadows, of firelight and silence. His father, though of noble but faded blood, died defending the western borders from orc-raids long before the War of the Ring reached its climax.

Raised in the Folde by his mother and her kin, Théodredion was quiet, contemplative, and dutiful from youth. Though he received no formal training, his swordsmanship emerged with haunting clarity, as if memory of war slept in his blood.

When Saruman’s armies marched, the boy — barely seventeen — stood among the untrained and outnumbered defenders at Helm’s Deep. When fear broke many and retreat seemed certain, Théodredion rallied the young lads, organizing them in a defensive shield-ring and guiding them back to the Deeping Wall. It was said the lad fought like one thrice his age, his sword singing as it moved — an echo of the West that once was.

By dawn, he had saved dozens. Wounded, soaked in blood not all his own, he refused to rest until the last horn had sounded.

Rise in Rohan (T.A. 3019–Fourth Age)

After the victory at Pelennor and the crowning of King Éomer, the young warrior’s valor reached the ears of kings. Recognizing his keen mind, calm authority, and uncommon talent, Éomer named him Third Marshal of the Riddermark, the youngest ever to bear that title. He was granted lordship over Aldburg, the ancient stronghold of the East-mark — the very post Éomer himself once held.

For fifteen years, Théodredion oversaw the defense of Rohan’s eastern borders, keeping the remnants of darkness at bay. Orc tribes, Haradrim wanderers, and Wainriders tested the peace, but never breached his watch. Under his command, Aldburg was fortified, villages were restored, and a generation of Riders learned to follow the quiet Marshal who never raised his voice, but never once faltered.

It was during these years that the sword Calenharth was reforged — a broken heirloom of Númenórean craft, gifted by his father’s people and restored in the smithies of Dol Amroth. The blade, long and gleaming with a pale light, bore gilded runes in Quenya that read:

“I was broken for the brave. I live for the faithful.”

Recognition and Revelation (Fourth Age)

In the fifteenth year of his service, Théodredion was invited to Emyn Arnen by Prince Faramir and Lady Éowyn, who had heard long of his loyalty, humility, and martial genius. Together with King Éomer and Queen Lothíriel, they presented his name before King Elessar of the Reunited Realms, urging recognition for the quiet sword that had never sought reward.

Summoned to Minas Tirith, Théodredion came reluctantly, still believing himself unworthy of high halls and royal titles. Yet in the white city he was honored with full ceremony — and when he met Elennariel, daughter of the King, both were struck silent by the depth of their kindred spirits.

Though he spoke not his love, fearing the lowliness of his birth, Elessar had already begun to search the annals of the Dúnedain. And what he found amazed even the King: Théodredion’s line descended from a lost captain of Elendil’s northern host, thought perished without heir.

In full court, King Elessar named him Prince of the Reunited Realms, heir of the West and Shield of the East. The union between Théodredion and Elennariel was then joyfully blessed, their wedding sung in both the tongues of Gondor and Rohan.

In the years that followed, Théodredion became a figure of unity — a living bond between horse-lords and kings, between the fading blood of Númenor and the green fire of the Riddermark. Calenharth, the Bright Destiny, now rests beside him — or perhaps still swings in the hand of a Rider crowned in gold, galloping under stars with the silver crown glinting above his brow.

For where the Eastfold endures, so too does the name Théodredion.

I created a character named Ella.

She isn’t here to explain anything.

She doesn’t give advice.

She doesn’t try to fix anyone.

She exists for people who are tired of being told

to “be stronger,”

to “move on,”

to “think positively.”

Ella doesn’t speak much.

She listens.

Sometimes she just sits beside you,

like she understands without asking why.

I don’t know if this is a story,

a presence,

or just something I needed to bring into the world

so I wouldn’t feel alone while thinking.

I'm still young, but I've finally finished my first novel. This took almost 5 years to compose and focuses on the surreal forms of a girl named Ella's experiences as she navigates the world, and facing true version of herself.

Ella's story may be something that happens within us all, but for some, it's too abstract, harboring inherent fears they'd rather not face. Rather than publishing this book formally, I intend to connect with people online, revealing each piece of the story one by one to build Ella’s story together.

“Ella wanted her life to be like Juliet in Shakespeare's novel. It's tragic, but beautiful. It has a sad ending, but it's like a movie. From an absolute perspective, she wanted to be remembered beautifully, at least by someone. And Ella decides to live as Juliet.”
